Backside itchy....

 

Just now ride back home, under my carpark,

Decided to test my fan, see the fan didnt 'on', then i decided to throttle a while, saw n heard the fan 'on', v happy. Then saw the coolant water come out... Shall be boil...

 

Now come to my doubt.... After coolant overflow, I decided to open my side cover n clean the area, I found out the resever coolant near the sit is full abv the upper guide Line, I remember clearly, I have top up the coolant myself to just the upper line n not abv.... Btw how the coolant water come out? Form the reserve coolant under te sit? Cos I c the bottle still clean, izzit come out from some hose?

 

Why the coolant suddenly top up by itself? Anyone experience this before? Kindly share.... Now v sad.... Fan working but coolant out of no where top up by itself..... Izzit ghost?

At last changed my rubber top gasket.. now my fan problem still not solve yet.. change sensor but still the same.. temp light come out first than fan come out after some time.. Is there any possibality that the wiring might been switched ?.. swpped both wire so that fan turn on first before temp light turn on..

There is no such thing as reference for mileage..just a guide and does not applies literally. When I say "guide" meaning..in other countires where there is mostly highway and never ending horizon roads where the bike is regulary used and at high speed..most engine of such just need to be monitored. Singapore road to them is like bach alley lanes. My own bike already when two rounds of the Odometer over the 16 yrs run and never need to change shims yet. When the shims (normally one or two..depends) only need to be change when they are worn out. The thickness of each shim is the 'valve clearance". They would make a excessively tick-tacking sound near your engine top head cover in prolong period..that's is the time to do a top head overhaul. S4 is a freaking hardy bike and last..like catus done need much rain in the desert. Btw..top overhaul and just to change shims is not cheap in labor..can easily cost $500+ to $600+..even more if other parts of its assembly need to be replace along with it. So..don't soo_kark_soo_kark want to change shims. Changing one or two new ones might make those less wear ones worst and depend on how experience the mech of the mototiam is. If the mototiam ahop do not have a Vernier Caliper..you better go elsewhere that has one..its forprecise shim's thickness gauage measurements.

 

 

my bike 10 years never even do top overhaul . Don't waste the money.

i assume u check ur coolant lv when bike is hot. so water expands... top part of the container is attached to a tube follow the tube u wil see it leading u to bottom of bike frame... u gt check wif the container rubber cap is it wet or gt ripple sign? ah pek mentioned there wil be ripple sign of water mark when it dry up ... the coolant should be from the tube i mentioned if overflow, drip at the middle of the bike. my exp , when coolant touches engine there wil be huge smoke, much more smoke then when rain water touches the engine.. correct me if im wrong

bro why don u connect a bypass switch to on the fan manually? then u don need to wait for the fan to ON when the light is on... u can also prevent it from overheat even b4 the light light up.. jus on when u feel its too hot..

hi ah pek i myself about to sent my bike for either valve clearance or carb servicing...

heres my problem..

1) bike moving off feels heavy and sluggish (higher rpm in top gears no problem feel smooth)

2) once in a while on stationary i full throttle the exhaust smoke come out very very very very very black (lots of carbon?)

funny thing once i do tis, the bike is noticeably smoother on lower gears in low rpm then back to sluggish again a few days later.

3) petrol consumption very high, 220km then reserve on which means divide by 15L = 14km/L+- o_O

 

so sum it up my bike heavy and sluggish on low to mid rpm, create lots of carbon and terrible fc for a versionS...will valve clearance or carb servicing solve the problems im facing? or what you or anyone experienced here reckon i do to rectify the problems?

No...non of those problem...ur exhaust is VERY choke base on all ur descriptions. Just use valve cleaner for awhile and clear ur exhaust by holding for a second or two at red line to clear all the black smoke. U can do this while on the move on the road by clutch in while you rev..but be considerate of trafficc behind (at highway behind no car is the best). You can get valve cleaner from me if u can't find. Do all this first b4 I teach u the next thing :0)

Just checked my wiring from the side, it seems like the wires had been tempered before, think someone must have rewired it and got it all wrong connecting back... haiz.... will try do back the wiring if got time, i think my old radiator switch and temperature sensor can still be use... if anyone want to buy from me those second hand item do inform me, can sell u at good price.. haha...

Today I check again , the coolant water level back to e level where I top up. I believe is like wat u said 'water expand' as I m checking it during the bike is hot . Now cool down n back to normal level :)

 

Yup saw e upper tube at the coolant bottle connect to the middle of e body frame which allow e overflow coolant to drains down :). , will observe next time if got any smoke coming out anot.

Tat's gd symptoms, mine I direct see the coolant flow down to the floor. Actually is I deserves it, I keep on throttle n wan to test fan. Wahaha.

 

But it's gd ex, at least now I have a taste of over heated boiling ex :)

 

Now then I realise tat coolant water will get expanded during over heating , no wonder there's still some space for me to filled up after the upper guide line. Can't imagine if I filled up abv that line :0

my case is i saw smoke onli when i stop... cos running gt wind.. coolant isnt circulating.. stationary , too hot, it wil auto pump the coolant... as my hose gt a hole, it shoot out contacting the engine thats when the smoke comes out... too scary that you thought its gona flame up

Some vehicle reverse hit my bike and damage my ride on right side...

My right mirror, footrest, exhaust got deep scratches and sadly my brake lever broke.:nono:

I guess my bike drop smack on the tarmac really hard...

 

Anyone here hv a used stock brake lever (Version S) for sale?:pity:

 

pls msg me 98006631 ED, i cant pick up calls due to work nature.

Sorry to hear about your bike bro. I got rear ended myself but luckily bike dropped on grass and no damage except minor scratches on exhaust.

 

Bought 4D on my bike number and won $500 (starter)> Maybe you should do the same. hehehe

Hi brothers and Ah Pek, I am about to buy a Ver S from a forumer but I'm not very sure what needs to be checked, since I'm currently riding an RXK that needs no maintenance. I have viewed the bike, and it looks pretty ok. Engine was already hot, so hot start was ok. Externally, there are no cracks or anything but I'm worried about the insides.

 

Should I pay more and get from shop instead?

I have viewed the bike, and it looks pretty ok. Engine was already hot, so hot start was ok. Externally, there are no cracks or anything but I'm worried about the insides.

Situation like that is always difficult and most people won't be able to help much. Ones' never know until the bike is bought and used for a few weeks or months. At any rate...just make sure they treat u as a valued customer and give you like a 3 months assurance warranty against any unforseen failure that deters safety and maintaneance of the bike.

Just need to ask n verify on fuel comsuption issue...

Pla pardon me if I post at wrong thread...

 

I am riding proj big.

 

My tyre Front tyre 120/60

160/60, my tyre pressure at front 250 ,rear 290, air filter also clean, normally goes at 100 to 120, once a while 140, not more then that,

 

 

my fuel comsuption 1L = 20.... Izzit consider reasonable? At 300 to 310... Got to open reserve.... And pump at 15L... Proj big tank 18L also right? Shall be around 14L start to open reseve....

 

Any bros riding proj big with same fuel comsuption?

Hey guys. I need some clarification. Vtec bike is running on 16 valve only when vtec open while ver r/s is always on 16 valve. But how come vtec models f/c is bad?

I've rode vtec 1. My fc abt 21-22km/l. My vtec 2 20km/l. Now my ver s is abt 24-25km/l.

i think i'm in love with a Bol'dor.

Hi guys, new member to the family here! I just got a Ver S, currently its at my mech's place. He says the fork is too soft and needs servicing, as well as the engine getting unusually hot. Wheel bearing damn rough also and will be changed. Overall engine is quite smooth, so its a pretty good buy. Can't wait to ride!
