Hey guys, need some advice here to solve this mystery..

I've been facing a 'handlebar wobbling' problem ever since I got my bike.. Bike shakes badly when I reach the speed between 80-100km/h..

I've just replaced my cone bearings, wheel bearings, fork rebuild, rim pressed (cos is very slightly uneven).. Tried out the ride just now, the wobbling had minimized but I could STILL feel it shaking..

1) I'm hoping my bike frame is still straight!

2) Tyre is a little old, has it got to do with this?

3) Stock damper is leaking, does it affects?

Does anyone had encountered this problem before or what are your opinions?

Since you mentioned after doing all these, the vibration minimised, then I will say focus on your wheel again. The wheel function as a whole, bearing, rim plus tire. One out and you will have problem as well. Since you replaced the bearing, so only left tire and rim. You mentioned your rim was very sligthly uneven. Even after pressed, you cannot expect 100% straight. You will need weights to help in the balancing but if it is totally out, then weights also can't do much. Tire warped may affect as well. Just get the shop to run on the balancing machine again. They should know what is the maximum accepted range.

It in KM.

Fuel consumption can range from 15km/l to 20km/l depending on how you ride. I would say city riding is around 16km/l. Full tank is 21L and reserve light on at 16L.

Wah our reserve tank 5 liter ah? HAha ok

Bcos im getting 244 only for 16liter.. 15km nia sia...faint..

Thanx:-)

check if your tyre is in good shape, bad shaped tyre will affect handling.

your handle bar will even shake if it is pop out a little

damper leaking mean it is not working at it best. i advise you to rebuild it or get aftermarket but normal riding, stock would be sufficient

5 litre reserve is actually quite normal. Usually reserved should last you around 60km at least. At least let you get to the nearest petrol station. In Singapore shouldn't be a problem.

How you ride, what kind of traffic and how long you ride per tank plays a big part in affecting your fuel consumption. I used to get around 16km/l but I have since ride lesser and now I'm actually only getting around 13+km/l. I haven't changed my riding style but my petrol pump interval have changed from within a week to 2 weeks. Hence could be petrol evaporated. Because I did try pumping within a week and my comsuption is back at 16km/l.

And for 18km/l to 20km/l, it can only be achieved at long distance ride. For example during touring and you have to constant around 100kph~120kph, you can achieve this range. I ever did go around 320km but haven't on reserved light. Totally impossible to hit at SG road.

I used to hit 320km on average in singapore.

Since my home is at jurong and my work is at loyang way

Of coz throttle control plays a part

Nowdays im lucky to even hit 240km since throttle and brake control is out of the question

Thanks for all the helpful advices guys..

If I could remb clearly, my tyre should be warp quite badly.. I think I shall start with changing to a new set of tires first and see how it goes..

Understand that it would not be 100% like fresh from factory after getting my rim pressed, but I doubt it would overly affect my handling so badly right? Just to add on, the vibration/wobbling is worst between 80km/h to 100km/h but slowly goes away when I start to increase my speed?! (Of cos, which such handling I won't have the balls to go abv the 200km mark, I'm just trying to test the bike)

so u found the source of the wobbling? if the tires still new, do the front balancing first, its more economical to start with the cheaper remedies...

Actually not yet.. Changing my tires today, shall see how it goes..

Most likely trying out the Metzeler Z8 - anyone tried before? a little worried on the dry grip at bends..
