Well, I think it's not here yet.

Yet to see them on roads or any of the bike shop advertising it.

I was surfing some thailand base forums. And discover some not so nice thing about the PCX.

In theory, pure figure. It got a very healthy HP and torque for a 125.

But it's heavily restricted. 2 types of restriction.

Variator roller ram shape. If you ride autoscoot and understand the workings. U will know what it means.

Apparently, the roller ram shape is design in such a way that it prevent the rollers from travelling all the way. This will prevent the variator from opening fully. Thus the max 110 top speed.

What the expats in Thailand did was take the stock variator and grind away the "hill"that prevent the roller from travelling fully. And final step, rebalance the variator.

Hope fully Malossi will produce a unrestricted variator in time to come. Or honda comes out a non restricted variator for export market.

The PGM-FI ecu is also restricted. Thailand expats did a analysis on the ecu and found that honda put not only 1 but 2 restrictions at 2 locations.

The 2 restrictions is found at the low end power band and the top end power band. Thus not allowing to have good exploding accelerations. The top end restriiction will prevent the bike from going above 110.

ECU has been cracked by some of the expats working there via standard ecu piggy bag devices. Power commander like products , But I'm not sure what the brand or product name is.

Again, Hopeully there's a non restricted ecu for export market.

CBR1000 of the olden days, 2004 I think Already. have similar way of doing things. JDM CBR1000 is restricted Via the air filter, airbox and snorkles. To unrestricted that. Just replace the parts with the europe models.

My personal opinion. The bike is not really that handicap as there's still solution to work around the restrictions. Basically. The bike power is supposed to be like 150cc scoot base on specs. but becomes a traditional 125 performance due to the restrictions.

The Variator roller ram shape seems easier to tackle with, but rather curious why they impose restrictions on ECM and why on low and mid range power band? Ain't that important for city commuting?

Perhaps its due to restriction impose by local authorities...

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Looks to have good reviews in Thailand last time I checked.

The auto stop/start function is a derivative of similar technologies found in newer cars (mostly luxury types). Good for slow traffic light changes, etc but since the majority of local riders will lanesplit all the way to cut queue, not very applicable in everyday life. The amount of time I spend idling in traffic is quite small compared to massive fuel use in full throttle overtakes and blazing away from traffic lights.

saw quite alot of this scooter for rent at phuket. was tempted to rent and try but already shared a car with my friends.. IMHO, looks nicer than the fino.. 'angmoh' tourist riding that around phuket, i guess there's adequate power too..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

top speed onli 100km/h ar bro from the websites above...

i think gonna face some difficulties if want to overtake at xpressway...

I guess that depends on how heavy you are..... if you weigh 100kg, top speed may be 70 km/h..... :cheeky:

Saw the PCX at a shopping mall in Bandung Indonesia in July and it looks quite big for a 125 cc...
