Disappointed with new 2b bikes in local market

Well said and exactly wat i wanna say.

To me 2B team triangle rider usually have the mindset as they are fast.

When after they taste the tarmac more often then they will knw that so wat if its fast but unsafe. With greater power comes greater responsibility.

 

No choice since 2B only stuck with 200CC and below. Everyone have to go thru this. Learn to be patient and learn to be safe for yourself. Not learn how to overtake ppl at fast speed. Throttle only everyone also knw now to twist full. But do you knw how to stop fast?

 

well said, i had those friends that just pass 2B and they can tell me " eh come leh challenge cornering leh" wana scrap their footrest. i taste the tarmac myself and its scary to rub agaist it. they wun learn til they fall.

Just saying that I share the same views as you. I am riding a Super4 and a Wave as a sidebike, altho I have been riding the wave more to save cost.

 

For me, my wave is powerless. But its ok to me because it gives me a fantastic fc of 46km/L. But I guess ur refering more to the newer bikes on the market, like the R125, R15, Daelim Roadwin etc so called sportsbikes.

 

And I have to agree with you. Those so called "performance" bikes has everything but performance. And manufacturers do have the power to make decent powered 4 stroke 2b bikes, but chose NOT to! I have seen a modded spark eat a rxz alive. Thus with some crude modification, a spark can perform as good as a stock rxz.

 

But people will start to question about the vibrations or the reliability of the modded engine, So why not make a STOCK 4 stroke bike, with quality parts and engine that can perform well in the first place?

 

aprilia rs125 is a good example.. (*yes I noe its a 2 stroker*) altho only 125cc, it's gearing ratio, sprocket ratio, forks and handlings are top notch.

 

But that means the cost of manufacturing the bike and keeping it will be high. In the case of rs125, should it break down and you have to order parts from its agent, GG already. So thats the problem, manufacturers just want to make bikes that sell well - meaning bikes that are cheap to build and cheap to keep.

 

I think TS just feels frustrated that manufacturers can design powerful 2b 4 strokers, but instead, release sportsbikes with glorified cub engines for the sake of profit margins.

 

But in SG context, if you want more power, simply upgrade to a 2a bike. A RVF in stock form will outrun any 2b bikes. And a R1 in stock form will outrun any 2a bikes. So in the end, it all comes down to CC and horsepower...

 

Well actually nowadays not to mention 2B new manufactured bikes. Every thing nowadays are made to last you only 10 years max i think. That include house appliances and even cars.

 

Now ppl are more on Business. So of cos smaller bikes made cheaply sells cheaply and sales target are met higher.

 

So like wat you mention with some mild modifications a sparks can fly, yes its true. But if the manufacturers already give you a spark which can fly then wouldnt it kill the other products?

 

Things are like that, business nowadays. All talk about $. Yes a stock spark say $3k. Lets say they give you a super spark for $10k. Will you buy??? Or would you prefer to have a $3k stock spark and do the mod yourself which i find it more interesting.

to me, whatever vehicle u are controlling should be able to accelerate smoothly up to about 120kmh and hold there steadily as many road users often ride/drive to such speeds.

 

being able to alter your speed quickly be it speeding up or slowing down as you wish definitely will give you better control over your positioning with respect to other road users.

 

ride safely however, do not hit such speeds unnecessarily.

please advise me which road/expressway are you able to do that, travelling at 120kmh? and the timing if possible, thank you very much.

 

for me, the only time i can travel at that speed, +/-20kmh constantly, is only after 11pm on the expressway on a weekend. and that excludes CTE and KPE.

day to day riding, if you can maintain 90kmh constant w/o having either to tap brake, close/open your throttle, is a good day on the road.

the only time i have felt that a small bike is inadequate in sg is when the engine can keep up but i am forced to slow down cause the bike is being almost blown out of the lane by the windblasts already... making it hard to steer, and that isnt an issue of more hp

ya true.but to be fair to all mankind maybe i should put it a way like,taxi driver/mac,kfc,pizza delivery,despatch rider mostly all abit of reckless,and that included me as well since my work need me to ride for 400km per day atless.

 

and always have a common habit:i ride/drive so many km on the road everyday,i should be very experience,so my driving/riding should not be a problem.

 

and that is the KILLER in our mankind.
