hey guys i jus change my maxima extra engine oil.

ok im very happy wif the product but wats bothering me is

when i change the oil .. the mech only put 3litres of oil.

from wat i noe my spec1 needs 3.2litres rit..but he says if nv change oil filter

3 litres is enough

is it true ?

U can always check on your right hand side the clutch housing below. There is a transparent round thing to check your engine oil whether is it sufficent a not. Try to make your bike centre, more accurate.

dun worry brother.

I always change my oil filter and my EO.

The max EO i pour in is only 3L.

I ask my boon siew mech and they all also do to my bike when i send there for servicing.

So bottomline 3L is enough.

Even if u change the oil filter.

huh ?

is it?

erm i always tot with filter change is 3.2

hmm..

for spec3 there is a engine oil indicator, the mechanic told me not to worry sufficient or insufficient oil cos if insufficient EO the indicator light will light up..

there are 2 ways to check,

1. the side bottom EO window, when bike is upright, make sure the EO level is between the max and min marking.

2. use the dip stick, also when bike is upright, take out the dip stick and wip it clean of EO, dip the stick into the engine and screw to tighten. take out dip stick again to see if EO mark is between max and min...

it will be too late when your engine oil light is up... imagine you are not NSHW and the nearest petrol station is 150km away...

after a few more rounds of oil filter change then it will be clear to if the 200ml is needed or not... :cheeky:

5 oil filter change = 1litre EO less... i am not sure if the bike will even run or not...

lol... joker....

dun think it works that way.

its always gonna be 200ml short, no matter how many times the engine oil is changed.

i had a spec 1 some years ago...rode it for 80k+ kms...every 5000 change oil

with or without oil filter,i always use 3 litres

if u take a closer look at the oil filter,it is in a inclined position where if u park the bike on side stand, oil will flow back into the oil sump from the filter, leaving a quite neglible amount in the filter

and fyi a bottle of 1 litre of engine oil,if u measure the amount is usually around 1050ml

--- A twist of the wrist ---

the truth--------------> vtec family, 3l wiitout oil filter change, 3.2 wif oil filter change.

if ur not sure, put ur bike uprite and ask sum1 to see the glass window of the eo and u can see its in the middle. u wun go wrong. i diy my s4 every servicing.

ur user manual is crucial 4 ur bike knowledge.

Whether 10w or 5w does not matter cos singapore hot country.

Wat is important is it must be at least 40 and above.

yeah

the number in front of W is to indicated

the testing at winter temperatures.

i.e 5W is tested at -25 Deg

so actually does not really matter in SG

correct me if wrong bros

whether 40 or 50 is all depends on how old is ur bike.. if ur bike is more that 5 yrs old then its best to aim for a 50.... for the W part its up to u.... but for me i use a thicker ones like 15w... cos my bike is bout 10 yrs old already....
