@Biposto, thanks for the fresh perspective on things, if I haven't said it before.

To clear the air, MNC (Midnight Club) was intended as a small-scale outing group. Event plans are short and sweet, no rules (beyond common sense) necessary. As far as I'm concerned today, it still is a small-unit tactics based group.

Based on recent events, I want to get this thread back on track, as it was in the first page or so. It doesn't matter that 2-3 bikes were present - we had a common interest and there were great riders like @KJ. that I could happily lead because they were always on my tail and I didn't have to worry about anyone straying off, or doing anything else negative.

We will be doing a "back to basics" run tomorrow evening. I don't really know the co-riders who will turn up, but that ain't the point. We meet, we ride, we bring joy home.

That's what motorcycling is all about.

In my opinion, it is better to lock your rear wheel than your front wheel. At least rear wheel you can control but front wheel its totally gone case if you dunno how to control.

I ride with others because i need to find good places to part-toh. For me, the perfect place to part-toh is a LAN shop.

Haha, no la. When it comes to riding, its the company that you are with. The 'riding' is just an excuse to get together. :cheeky:

I'm not talking about skidding. I'm talking about 2T oil and petrol. Definitely those who ride knows that their bike need 2T or petrol to run(even those who don't ride knows bike needs petrol to run). So new or old rider also not an excuse to come with empty tank or 2T unless the rider says he don't know bike needs petrol or 2T to run.

My dad ride bike 30 years also keep skidding, skid till i always must go hospital -_-"

Edit: Paiseh, i've read the on top of this page and yea, cos i didnt quote the 2T part which made some people misunderstand about my reply earlier, my apologies. But yeah my reply regarding this >>"If got P plate like me, maybe still can considered new, but no P plate should be at least have some experience or knowledge le ba. =X" is regarding the 2T and petrol issue, definitely not regarding skidding.

Lol my dad never had an accident for 25 years I think. Trying to beat the record :p

Like all old timers who learned to ride in Malaysia he's an expert lane-splitter. CB250 "Type R" with boxes plus kitten as pillion following cubs slicing through stationary traffic. 90 degrees between bumpers? No problem, it's just a big giant cubkia. Scary?

Anyways, skidding is fun... if you can predict where and when you'll lose traction and take "appropriate countermeasures" :D

Buy him a Can Am Spyder which has all your electronic traction control aids...

Then get stuck permanently in traffic jams getting bullied by Sonata taxis LOL.

Nice save there bro. :cheeky:

Anyway, even so, like what swiftee said,

hard to say some ppl dont ride immediately after getting their license

the person may only get the bike a few years after getting the licence. I have a friend who asked me what is 2T and he got his 2B years ahead before me.

Nice save but, some of it has slipped through your fingers! :cheeky:

Yeah but that's definitely before he got his first bike. The situation a while ago was someone turning up with a 2 stroke engine with no 2T oil =X Yes he doesn't have a P plate so he's got his license at least 1 year ago, assuming that bike was his first long after he got his license, definitely he knows his bike requires 2T oil. =.="

I won't dare to take the risk. fine quite heavy.

Many years ago I was in a Yishun cub vs KRR outing and the others asked me to remove my p plate as they liked my riding style. I replied the same.

But ironically the P plate as a label for "novice driver/rider" only works in Malaysia. Here, the P plate looks like a target. But I notice when riding with @CJP he doesn't face the same problems I've had when I was a P plate. So, even if you comment otherwise, things -are- getting slowly better on the road.

Posted

What problems you face as a P plate holder? The only problem i face is that the triangle plate is spoiling the looks of my already lousy looking bike.

P plate sucks. Class 3 P plate + lady + BMW/Mercedes + old age combo = Road menace high risk accident causing creature.

some cl2 monsters are sill displaying pplate, and it didnt spoil the outlook ! haha, just dont understand why some new rider look down on pplate and feel ashamed to display it . At least i wont tailgate them when they are hogging the lane1 with 60-80km/h on my meter.

looking forward to the next rounding. :D

@liquidy provided 'security' as chase bike during yesterday evening's "navigation trials".

I wanted my riding style more polished before I organised the next outing which will involve operating in traffic. I am also confident that P-platers like @CJP can lead the next convoy if we do some homework beforehand. After all we are riding identical machines with similar performance. He had led an earlier full-day Potong Pasir outing without mishap, while @liquidy can serve as his 'wingman'. I'm just here to facilitate gaining experience not order everyone around like an S&M mistress :p

They are not the type to see an open road and a green light and start "clearing carbon". Which means max respect.

Next mission: Trans-Island Interception, Sunday, 17 Oct '10

Objective: Meet @Biposto

Challenge:

Can everyone appear on schedule from the launch point and rendezvous with a moving target keeping a tight timetable hitting various checkpoints on the way? Bonus points if @CJP and @liquidy can lead in a relaxed manner so we have maximum vitality for the second part - the sightseeing "Ladies' Day Out" route in reverse.

I'm not ashamed to display it. My rear P plate rocks, even Nabil agreed that it rocks, but my front one is quite ugly cos i didn't do a good job sticking it =(

The above mention in the quote is partially me! LOL Normally ride at 90-100 on my meter, which is around 80-90 on cars and class 2A or above bikes but i don't go lane 1, taxis will tailgate me.

er no

if someone got my license and then sat on it for 2 years, he wld still be noobish when he buys his first bike 2 yrs later

if he was riding little dirtbikes offroad before getting his cl 2b, he might b more experienced than someone who has been sitting on his license for 2 yrs

p-plate doesnt mean anything

boring rider. with a boring bike.

too old to want to appear interesting anymore.

Inspired by the legendary @lacrimosae you engaged warp drive and ended up in suntec. @CJP sitting in the Potong Jalan Knights HQ was impressed with your warp 9 capable RS125.

Jokes aside you were great, and no i insist RS125 is much faster than my bike lol.
