get a SP and peh your probation period away. 95% you will upgrade, no point getting a new bikes, R15 cost $6-7k, R125 $9k+ and Aprilla RS goes to 5 digits. Just survive your first year and see how. No point getting into financial hardship over a vehicle, Singapore transport system are still decent.

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.

i got myself an Aprilia RS125 and have no regrets ever since.. 2B bike with 2A power with the cost of Class 2. But its fine with me.. How fast can we go in sg roads before the next traffic light or speed cam?

Ride safe..!

yah loh.. i got sp for 2b and rode for 6 years..

how fucxing fast u want to go on sg road.. surely 180km/h more than enough to go changi-tuas-woodland-vivo- (and to get revoke.)

change to 250cc only already feel too fast for sg..

how mush ur budget?

if u budget unlimited.. i sugget for cagiva mito followed by aprilia rs125 for the ultimate 2b sport bike..

if u got a lot of money and want to look expensive but don't want to go too fast:

r125, derbi gpr.

if u got a little bit of money like normal singaporeans,

go get kr/sp/tzm

if want sport yet u want budget, get rxz, raider, sonic, ect..

all these no fairing, but can do sport riding lah.

These little beasts also can have very cheap maintenence which is a good thing if you are a student or would like to save dollars for other priorities i.e. housing, wife, future plans. May not have the raw horsepower of 2B sportsbikes but are agile, newbie friendly and fast enough.

You can also go try Y125ZR which for a time was infamous for a reason. Tiny and powderful. (very) Low consumption, reliable and has sleeper looks if you keep stock. Easier to handle than sportsbike (purely IMO) in street conditions and speeds so average commuting speed may be faster depending on rider.

Wanted to also suggest RX-K and Phantom but *gasp* lots of DIY work required to make them handle and perform like sportsbikes. And then RX-K may be as fast as Y125Z but reliability big question mark.

I totally agree. Don't spend too much on a 2b bike. Chances are, you'll be looking to upgrade in a year's time. Also, try not to go for Kawasaki KR150. Not because its a bad bike, but insurance for Kawasaki bikes are slightly more expensive. I don't know why, but its just the case. Every little bit saved helps go towards your class 2 sports bike I say!

Yamaha YBR125R

Good choice! Can whack until no tomorrow because it's a reliable low cost China made commuter. And you know "commuting" these days involves a lot of wide open throttle work :3

If the YBR125R is too small (you being a huge overgrown american sized kitten) then consider Honda CBX200R for bigger fun and louder sound. Of course, you got to send it to me for tuning first before you get the R effect :3

You can never go wrong with a Yamaha or a Honda.
