i am overweight 110kg :(

i seen heavier ppl on a wave tho, not an issue.

can consider phantom if u think ur weight will be an issue.

if u think not stylish enough,

can consider 2nd hand spark/x1-r

or

krr/sp

prices wise shld be fine, tho do take note if ur under 21 + p plate

insurance cost ard 1k for 3rd party, and 2nd party cost way more like 1.4k etc

Aprilia RS125 :)

2nd hand, bad choice.

1st hand, good choice( provided u have the dough to maintain it and purchase it. parts are expensive, most of which have to wait cos import.)

just my 2 cents worth of thought,

is it worth paying 4-7k or perhaps 8-10k for a aprilia rs125- a replica of the RSV4?

4-7k for a 125 cc 2 strokes bike

or wait for:

1 year more, get cbr 400 or rvf 400 ard that price, but with 275 more displacement? besides rvf has a v twin engine if im nt wrong.

there's a lot of misconception towards getting rs125 for beginners. its like a pie with lotsa of whipcream which entice kids. esp those who just pass. if u have the dough or financial backing from ur family, go ahead.

if ur supporting it on ur own, i strongly advise not to especially if ur upgrading to cls 2A / cls 2.

u can get super4 with tat amt.

yea he can but need to wait 1 year + more? heh

super4 2b meh..

nope, 2A. but he's saying 4k can purchase a 2nd hand s4

why not? 2nd hand, 2k also can get. just a matter of COE and parts to repair that eventually cost more than the price ppl pay for the bike heh

Most 2nd hand 2B won't cost you that much, unless you include insurance, road tax and cost of buying a new helmet into it.

Even if you come across one that is with COE renewed 10 years, COE $1.5K Max + machine price, won't be more than $3K.

So it's pretty much almost any bike you want now.

IF you do come across one that cost more than $4k, eg: Phantom costing $4k    You know it's over priced.

Only time when you should buy one that is $4K or more is when it's a brand new bike, first month, the owner bankrupt/licence revoke/suspended, no choice selling the bike away! Meter less than 1K traveled, COE still got 9 years 11 months! :D

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.

Just my personal opinion, but I do think that the RS is worth that amount of money for what it delivers. It's not just a pretty bike that costs a lot. I've ridden plenty of bikes, but I still find the RS one of the best handling bikes among them. The CBR and RVF can't hold a candle to how well it handles. I don't think it can be compared to a jap bike in the same class when it comes to how it feels when being riden, it's just that much more refined.

i've never ridden an RS.. but i've ridden a Mito before..

i can say that its handling is more solid/precise/agile/razor-sharp, ect than 2a bikes i've ridden.

it takes cornering to a finer artistic level.

For first bike I usually advise ppl get 2nd hand, and a 4k budget is too high for me. Get something cheap, familiar with the outside riding condition first, then think for changing bike later. Don't be afraid to change bikes.

dun worry abt it, we are all here to share our personal opinion. no wrong or rights, just enlightening the TC of the pros and cons.

yes ur right to say its worth that money provided

1)if u have riding for some time/ its not ur first bike purchase

2) money isnt an issue

IMO.

dun get me wrong, i'd prefer a KTM, husky over a DRZ any time but what im emphasizing on between a continental and a jap bike is the afford-ability and the time consuming/rare parts tt have to be imported in this case.

We all know if given a choice, we'd pick a ducati/aprillia/ktm/husqvarna/husaberg/derbi/bmw/HD over its jap counterparts if not for afford-ability(money). We know its better be it in a sense of refinement, higher class, better quality, more atas, more glam, more eye-catching, more sophisticated.

Im sure that some if nt all of us here have frens/acquaintances that ride a RS125 before, but how many of them continued to a rs250? or are even capable of riding it past 1 year? I know there are but only a HANDFUL who managed that. And how many of the handful managed it with their own dough?

what u said is like comparing apple and orange, ofc im nt referring to continental or jap bike. im referring to money-for-value(from ur POV) and afford-ability(my POV)
