The new CBR250R uses a single-cylinder engine with fuel injection, double-overhead cams and a counterbalancer. Sure that’s tech talk, but the architecture offers some very real advantages. Maybe the most important is power delivery: a single offers the kind of torque and midrange power that’s well suited for all levels of riders.

I was reading the thread start and really baffled. I rmb it being a single yet the first post says il4. Really misleading pple with irresponsible posting.

With it being a single, I still think Ninja is the better option.

its going to be on sale in malaysia end feb 2011, imported from thailand.

so probably we get ours withnin the first quarter as well. but then again, its up to Boon Siew to make the final decision.

also think its about time the license structure is revamped. 2b goes up to 250cc (4 strokes), 200cc (2 strokes). and then the rest as the same.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

quite sure boon siew will bring it in, just a matter of time..

i thought of the same thing too. but hard to see the license restructure happening..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

I'm not sure if everyone is talking abt the same bike but TS stated CBR250RR not CBR250R.

2011 CBR250RR is (supposedly after some googling) to be inline 4, whereas 2011 CBR250R is single cylinder.

Anyone can verify this?

I have check wikipedia, the inline 4 CBR250RR ended in 1996, Yes the new CBR250R a single cylinder 4 stroke machine. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CBR250)

Despite a inline 4, it produce a whopping 40-45PS which is very good for a 250cc engine. Surprisingly the new model acutally heavier than the old model.

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Btw' which engine have more top end speed ? Parallel twin or V-twin ? Only this two engine . Don't answer me Inline 4 .

definitely parallel twin..but overall..V-twin will win the race first becoz of their pick up...unless if its a straight road..parallel twin will lose both low and top end..itll take few more stretches for it to reach high speed and catch up to V-twin before they reach a corner..heh

i still think the yellow thai one is nicer than the moriwaki and mugen (mugen actually bothers with little 4 stroke two wheelers  ), and the very last red/black before this post is nice too.

i cant put my finger on it, but i believe these 2 managed to use 'black' to 'break the shape' and make the front half resemble a modern gixxer, while making the rear hide its 'flat commuter' looks.

the moriwaki and mugen didn manage to break the shape.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

180km/h for a 4 stroke 250cc very good already but might as well get a CBR400.

CBR400 is old though and isnt as maintenance friendly as a super 4. the new cbr250 is a good bike for commuting cos good mileage and looks big enough not to feel flimsy. if i had to choose between this and the ninja 250 and i have deeper pockets, i take this one as it has ABS version :)

only issue is, some ppl dont have deeper pockets (like me) :p paying 10K for a class2A 250cc bike doesnt seem too rationale. also i think the ninja 250r 2011 should be about the same price too.
