Hello everyone! It's been few months since I visited this forum. Been 4+months since I last went down to BBDC for practical > Quite worried if I should get back to faster get my license! Its like so near yet so far haiz. And is there any TP on weekend? Its quite hard to get leave on weekday for TP :/

Posted

I dun think there's TP on the weekends man. They're lazy guys, the testers!

Better go for more revisions before the TP. Not worth failing, feeling demoralized and stuff. I spent about $800 on my TP, and about half of that was on circuit and road revisions!

Class 3 - 24 Jan 2006 - Lancer, Impreza TS, Impreza WRX

Class 2B - 28 October 2010 - SP, KRR

Class 2A - 26 March 2012 - CBR400

Class 2 - 6 June 2013 - Suzuki Hayabusa, GSX-R600

i dont think there is tp on sat. maybe there is. no need to worry, soon you will be riding normally in no time, you are just rusty at the time being after stopping for 4 months

Yeah man, I'll go for more revisions before going 8.01 and then TP :) but there's something I'm worried :/ RC only revise all the circuits right, wont go out to road. But 8.01 is everything including the outside road >

I think you should have finished ur BMT, you should be able to seek permission from ur PC or OC to go for ur TP.

To ride on the road, You need skills,Stamina, or even luck.

But to be a good rider, you have to change with your environment, and adjust yourself to its rhythm.

Cultivate the confidence to face the different situations. Don't let yourself to be subdued by the environment :thumb:

Oh man, my PC dont allow me to go for TP which I booked on 24oct cause got important lesson :/ Only allow me to go at end nov. There's a suitable TP date, but I called BBDC and they don't allow change of test date :/ that means I need to cancel my 24oct booking to book the 30nov slot.. And no refund :( is there any other way I can change my test date? :/

bro, get ur pc/oc to write letter explaining why u are unable to attend ur original booking, and asking that u be allowed to change ur test date to later. make sure letter bears unit stamp and pc/oc contact number. they should allow change foc. btw, it's not bbdc u shd be speaking to but the tp who run the tests at bbdc. this worked for a couple of my guys back when i was in NS. hope ur pc's nice enough to draft such a short letter.

Practical 2.02(100mins): $22.90(Off-peak) PASSED!

11.30am. Today learned how to execute a right turn n lane change. My right turns? The angles were quite ok. Pick up n turning speed abit slow. Kena reminded a number of times. I quicken my steps some more and finally nailed it after a few rounds. Lane change is more tricky. I tend to signal and check blindspot together. Tat's wrong! It shud be signal, check blindspot then lane change. Corrected tis eventually. Noticed tat most failed on lane change due to sharp turns, positionings, no blindspot checks, no signal, wrong signal and angle of change. Duno y, i totally stoned thru the course. Could b due to the searing heat and unleaded fumes.

Very normal to feel nervous. Its the rush of learning a new skill tats making u jittery. Juz imagine all the excitement of being able to pass n proceed onto the next stage!

Try letting urslf go more. Dun look down at the meters. Look forward, at the surroundings n admire the views. Its better to relax n ride with a calm mind. For tat 100mins or so, u shud b enjoying the moment on the bike. Nothing else matters.

*Relax riding generates less sweat, less muscle cramps n a wider grin.

Sigh! How sway can I get man... I finally manage to get my sgt maj to approve me to go for my TP on 24oct, but I just went for 8.01 today and failed... And worse thing is, there is no more slot today and tomorrow! And I can't go on weekdays, which mean I can't fulfill the requirement of completing 8.01 5 days before TP :( Sigh! No other ways already right? :/

Hang on a second! There's stil a way!

1.) Go to bbdc asap!

2.) Get a queue number from the front desk.

3.) Tell the counter staff about ur situation.

4.) Request them to open an extra 8.01 slot.

That's wat i did but make sure u die die muz pass tis time.

PCB, I just failed the Bumpy Course twice today. 1st time really bo wei gong. Second time that guy just refuse to pass me!

And some guys out there really pick things up damn fast. 1st time already can do it quite ok, second time onwards perfect liao.

Really feel very low every time I see myself so much slower than others.

Just realized that there are a lot of new riders here, and I hope this post can save some lives if I paste it in a place where it matters.

Like many of you here reading this thread, I am a new rider. 10 months passed, and getting ready for 2A. The message I have for you all here today is this:

Always, always wear your visor, especially on the Expressway.

Our instructors in school never talk about it. Noone discusses it. Noone seems to care about it. Even after things happen. I wonder why.

I would suggest, if there are any instructors reading this thread, Please let learner riders know the importance of putting down the visor while riding.

Yesterday on the BKE heading, I was keeping left and getting ready to filter out towards Dairy Farm Road when a piece of granite from a nearby truck flew into my helmet and cracked my visor. Not just a small crack. The visor is totalled.

The stone was as large as a contact lens case, and would have knocked me unconscious if not for the visor. Even with the visor on, I was still stunned, and almost lost control.

Luckily I managed to hang on and survive. Please wear your visors. They WILL SAVE YOUR LIVES.

Thanks for the advice, and I totally agree w you.

Btw, regarding carb and EFI, EFI generally saves more fuel compared to carb. It is likely that all bikes in future will use EFI technology.
