it really depends on how your family think, even i had my class 2 licence for nearly 6 years and i'm gng 30s in a while more, i'm still riding a CBR1000RR behind them.

 

cause number of accidents i had during this period of time and they are scare of me riding a bike. but sometimes, its not our fault. bikers shld knw.

 

be true to them, get the licence, get the bike... n tell them : Dad & MUM ! SURPIRSE !!! I BOUGHT A BIKE LIAO !!!

my parents support me n my younger bros taking bike license n owning a bike.. they prefer to approve n know the situation rather den their children do it behind their backs... anyway best to have parents blessing..

Tell them you want your own transport and you can only afford a bike. They don't allow then ask them buy you car and support the maintenance of the car. If they are not willing to fork out the money for a car. Then they got not much to say already. Pass > Buy > Blessings from parents "Don't speed ah!"

cos of a terrible accident happens years back on my K2, they kinda terrified and BAN me from riding.

afterwhich i bougt myself a car but after driving for couple of year, i sold it off and secretly bought a CBR1000RR.

right now i duno hw to break the news to them, so its like waiting for them to catch me. LOL

just to share my experience,

 

we had dis agreement that i hav to pass my class3 license 1st b4 taking 2b.. coz class 3 lesson more expensive, they pay for me

 

when its time to take 2b, i pay myself.

 

buying a bike is a totally different story;

 

when i pass 2b, ..coz my dad rode vespa since young and my elder bro follow wat my dad say, he bought for him vespa.my father said dis literally " u want to buy bike, right now we go motorshop, i buy for u,in CASH, BUT VESPA"

 

i being the 2nd child, which usually, dun want to follow the norm, said NO, coz my dream bike is the retro RXK ( it is slower than vespa btw)...therefore he say if tats the case, i have to buy my own.

 

i save for about 2 years to save up enough cash to buy a RXK..n here i have a RXK..hehehz

I just gave told them persistently every dinner that I was gg to take up riding. Although they said no, I went to enrol myself eventually. As usual, they kept telling me to stop and it was dangerous. After some time, I think they got used to it and didnt really bother much and just tell me to be careful.. Once I passed, they again told me not to buy a bike and drive if you can but I stubborn(ly) wanted to buy a bike adn in the end they gave way again and even forked out abit for my downpayment! haha

i enrolled and took my lessons all without consent, infact, totally against their wishes cause they hated my ex-boyfriend who rides. passed my test, bought a bike, all still in the dark until 3 months of riding later my parents randomly decided to pick me up from work while i was heading to the carpark with my helmet..

but i think they slowly got bought over anyway when they realised my honda wave is such a gentle bike

That keeps my eyes extra open when im on the road.

I took it behind my parents back till the found my bike key.
