Hi,

I was hoping to start off a discussion on Alpinestars Gloves lineup. Anyone with Astars glove can give your review here?

Also for Singapore weather, leather gloves or textile is the way to go?

i have used Alpinestars SMX-2 half-gloves from Regina.. its a combination of mesh & leather.. which i tink is the best combination.. not too warm, yet the leather are in the right places where injuries might occur most if u fall.. also has a nice carbon knuckle protection... in fact, its so airy, then it can get pretty cold when riding at NSHW at nite... i lost of side of it a month back, but definitely one of the best gloves for daily riding! :thumb:

I am using this pair of gloves too.

I love it. Was hoping the leather covers a bigger part of the gloves though.

I like the SMX-2 also, but I like the successor of the SMX-2, the SMX-2 Air Carbon gloves. New for 2011.

I have full leather Alpinestars, love them. Only problem is when it rains, then drying them out becomes a bit troublesome.

i'm interested in the Smx 2 also. how much ah?

i think regina had a promo for an alpinestar glove at 88 bucks.

i'm currently using rs taichi one, but abit tight and uncomfortable for me, cause it hampers the way i grip the throttle and clutch.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

i've got leather ones sp8 and gpx.

they're quite well built.. but i prefer sp8 as gpx is a bit hard and rough.

no problem with heat.. but problem with rain since it can spoil leather.

sp8 have longer fingers than gpx.

GP Plus. Set me back over $200...

Have been using almost daily for about a year now, so well worth it IMO.

Is Regina the only place to get the A*s?

I was browsing for gloves when I happen to stumble upon motoport.

Kevlar gloves... Washable and stronger than leather + lasting. And they can make a custom fit for u as well. After I saw this, I'm kinda undecided. Thinking of getting one of this and an a*s. But the design kinda sux for motoport.

Anyway, is it cheaper to get it from states or locally?

i am on my 2nd pair of A*, both are leather glove.

1st pair - sps glove, 2nd pair - gpx glove

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?

I've had Alpinestars' GP Pro for just about a year now. Purchased at S$260 (if I remember correctly) from Regina.

Pros: Superb protective bits everywhere and sliders where needed. Venting is great - huge perforations between fingers that really work well. After breaking in, they are very very comfortable. Nice gauntlet length. Love the patented finger-bridge (tying the pinky finger to your ring finger), so you reduce the risk of losing your pinky finger in a bad fall - this took hardly any time to get used to.

Cons: Logos on leather chipped away (partly my fault for not conditioning the leather, esp after riding in the rain). Fingers are not as long as I'd like them, so I find my fingertips pressing against the ends of the gloves from time to time. First week or two of breaking in, the right hand glove was horrible - my PU knuckle protector was pressing hard against my second knuckle and caused significant discomfort.
