Adding little 2T oil into fuel tank for 4-stroke bike and feel the smoothness

Recommended Posts

Donhxw, most part of your post has nothing to do with add 2T into fuel of 4 Stroke engine.

i understand that, however i felt the need to show abit of support for ezyoiler, not that i think he's right, but because any new forum user might get the wrong idea about him if just forming an impression from his posts alone. i feel ezzyoiler has contributed to the local riding scene in someway or another, and he is senior in terms of age so its just abit of "show of respect" on my part

nontheless your right and i stick to the topic :D

and thx for the DIY tip! shall tinker with my chain soon.

and in regards to topic, have yet to try the 2T addition to fuel tank, anyone has any idea if an EFI bike will suffer in anyway from adding 2T into tank?

The recommended ratio is no more than 1:500, i.e. 2ml 2T per L petrol

30:1 or 40:1 ratio are meant for 2T bikes, not for 4T bike.

If you put too much, either u may find it slightly harder to start the bike at next morning, or the engine get hotter when cruising.

Though so far, I have no problem to start the bike in the morning in one crank only.

My wife asked why the exhaust pipe getting hotter recently.

It is because 2T oil results in better combustion and higher temp I guess.

I can't live without 2T oil nowadays, getting used to the smoothness, responsiveness and quieter engine.

Do you realize how ridiculous your statement sounds? Do you even know what Is the percent of pertrol already burnt during the combustion process? its very very close to 100% Better combustion can only occur if you change your air fuel ratio (more air less fuel) or you force more air into the same volume with forced induction.

so much rubbish and still want to share rubbish with people. goodness gracious.

Things done so far:

Brand new rear suspension, new rubbers in carbs, serviced carbs, double bubble windscreen, voltmeter, Pilot Sport tyres, Did o ring + VAZ sprokets, front brake pump, gaskets + waterpump oil seal, Maxima CoolAid, 2nd hand rear hugger, 2nd hand front brake disc, Fizz Power brake pads front and back, 2nd hand front and back rims, Yusa battery, Reconditioned 2nd hand carbs by Planet, Front sticker number plate, front wheel bearings, new clutch plates, fortuna paintwork sponsored by spastic driver, Keitin tank pad.

Need sugar mommy for : Hel brake lines and top end overhaul.

I've tried 2T and its good.

Let me recommand another petrol additive called Redex.

Works on the same principle as 2T (lubricate the upp cylinder)

But doesn't leave the 'carbon residue'

But best of all is it should increase your bike's 'cruising speed' by 5-10%

The only reason why I'm not laughing with you is that I prefer laughing at you.

I m riding a scooter downtown 200. Does it help as well?

If it is an EFI scooter , it may not help as much , it will be interesting to know how it effect the fuel injectors ,if the 2t can get thru and does not clog them. I be worried for that

But if yours is using an old school carb, the fc should show some improvement and engine smoother

avoid on efi.. dont know why but was always told that.

I use naphthalene mothballs too :p

Cuz of a couple things. Fuel pump could potentially get gunked. Not likely at the low concentrations, but who knows eh?

Heat soak on the injectors. When you turn off the engine, a small amount of fuel is left at the tip of the injector. They're usually quite hot, being so close to the cylinders, volatiles evaporate, leaving behind the residue in the fuel. If that happens to be 2T, it could possibly speed up gumming of the injector heads. This could lead to bad spray patterns, etc. Of course, a good cleaning in a sonic bath will remove all that.

Make no mistake though, heat soak will eventually affect your injectors, regardless of whether you add 2T or not. Just that with 2T, that's another source of stuff gumming up the injector nozzles, speeding up the process.

All these are my own opinions, they may not be right, but it's food for thought if you're considering adding 2T to a FI system.

For carb bikes, probably not that much detrimental effects.

So after all these years, may we have some review on those who have been doing it?

Is it more economical, safer for the engine, smoother, etc?
