Adding little 2T oil into fuel tank for 4-stroke bike and feel the smoothness

Weirdly, its much much thicker than my stashes of 10w40 and 20w50 and the $3 2t that i got from ahboy. You dont have to buy one. Next time just shake the bottle from the shelf.

Anyway, back to discussion of the topic. Lets not stray. Cheers.

Bike manual recommendation was 10w40. But bike shop recommendation was 20w50.

 

Result was that bike feels heavier with the 20w50. A quality 10w40 is my preferred oil for my bike.

 

At 10$ a quart, im not complaining and a i doubt i can find a better main line oil off the shelves at this price.

 

In case the others are wondering. Its a comparison of the royal purple sae 10w-40($13/quart) (MX trading) and Schaeffer 20w50($10/quart) (some random one shot clearance online guy. regular price is about $13 Mx trading)

 

Back to discussion. Anyone wants to share 1/2 a bottle of motul 710?

all right. let get to Engine oil discussion thread for engine oil.

 

no love for Motul 710? i am using a brew of MMO and TCW3 for fuel additive now. no real increase in milage but the accelaration seem to be better.

You guys should try motul 810 road race.

 

810 is mean for racing therefore it is loaded with additives if you happened to read it VOA. some 2T bike reported fouling of plug.

 

under normal circumstances, i doubt it make any different from a decent 2T interm of protection.

i am not sure if there are other bikes having foul plugs but previously nv happened to me, my plugs seems fine.

Have not been using 2T for quite some time as the price increase for premium 2T is unbelievable :faint:

all carbon that u see is soft carbon easy to remove

 

so fellow rider , add 2 t at your own risk . i am happy to declare i be adding them

did your mech say the carbon is excessive? what is his comment on your engine condition?

 

really neat stuffs.

 

he mention that there was virtually no wear and the carbon was normal , but was suprise that whatever carbon in the top was so easy to remove

Bro , Exactly my understanding! as what you has stated we need to run it for like 30k, i would go for 50k to have more firm data

one of the comment by the mech was that i do not need the overhaul so it's was moot. so i could not contribute it to the 2t or was it my riding style? (so could the saving was the 50k servicing cost?)

 

Then

It was my 50k servicing so it about the same , i had the piston change to start with the fully on 2t for the next 50k it cost about $200 for the over haul excluding labor.

 

so my next overhaul will be another 50k...This time will be fully 2t session it should be about 2.5 years or 3 years duration

I would not state that it's irrevocable evidence , it just another observation , as there are still limitation to this findings neither can i promote the use of 2t as a positive additive to any type of bike

 

it's only 7k , it's 5ml to a litre, riders experience and bike model and etc and it's not a control experiment and it has not shown that it's repeatable to another vehicle.

 

I did not start with 2t for 40k , only after 43k then did i add 2t.

 

Even if the experiment complete , i could only state for my vehicle alone.... it cannot eliminate the the hypothesis that the 2t effect is bad for other bike.

 

I could only state about the effect and to each his own to experiment at your own risk to life and limb.

 

i do find some benefits but it's too early to conclude...

you are using 5ml per litre? tat pretty high dosage and i will say and most only use 2ml per litres. tat is equal to about 18,000km for most. even more so, your machine is handling a much higher dosage at a given time.

 

using 2T is not a big deal and it is not a whole new world. if it is really tat bad, we will be reading it all over the web.

Your piston has normal carbon deposit.

I have just replaced the piston of burgman which was not using 2T yet, it also has a layer of carbon.

Come on, after millions of petrol combustion, cannot be in shiny chrome right.

actually can be counted as billions btw do you have a sample of your piston , to verify is the carbon form is it hard or powdery , i suspect the latter addition of 2 t serve as a "softener" or certain effect to break up the carbon

interesting...so the 2t could have acted as a "softener" for the carbon?
