Adding little 2T oil into fuel tank for 4-stroke bike and feel the smoothness

We are recommending 2ml per litre of petrol. More doesn't mean good or you're just trying to accelerate the carbon buildup?

 

At low concentration, our engine "may" benefit from the 2T added and also able to purge the so call "carbon" from the system. At high concentration, the benefits and risks reverses... So even if you manage to prove 2T causes carbon buildup, it just proves Overdose 2T cause more carbon buildup, SADLY.

 

Put it in another way:

1 tab of pain-killer, numb the pain.

5 tabs of pain-killer, numb the pain, but also damage our liver faster.

 

Am I right?

 

it depends on the cow u riding lol mine was the dr 200 bull recommended by the doc 2 tab not enough need 5 tab so will go with 5 tab just to see the carbon built up . anyway it's an experiment , so the rest of the rider can have informed decision, and carry on with their experiment ,

 

we cannot deny about the "improve" fuel saving and the mellowing ride , but also to see how bad the carbon built up is.

 

let pool the information and let the riders decide for themselve

i'm using 2ml per liter, the gold bottle from castrol.

 

and my plugs looks exactly the same as the ones i had when i was running non 2t. and there are carbon deposits on the thread as well.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

yup it a question of how much more carbon n how can it affect the 4 stroke engine mechanically

looks fine, you can see abit of browning on the electrode on the last pic.

 

my most recent fc is 39km/l. am starting to think temperature has a high reason for this as the weather recently in early morning is cooler.

 

anyways, i am running on HDEO now. will monitor with and without 2t to see if any changes occur.

what's TCW-3?

 

my fuel reading has been the same throughout. no major changes.

 

TCW = "Two Cycle Water cooled" and the number 3 stand for the lastest standard rating. it is a rating just like API FC or FD for 2 cycle oil but in this case it is more for outboard motor purpose. TCW-3 is used as a fuel additives for 4stroke engine due to it low flash point and clean burning as it original intent is for outboard engine which is water-cooled and demand clean burning to prevent marine toxic/pollution.

Sorry for the absence. Been very busy with work.

 

Just did my service at 5k km and this time it was impromptu so no pictures. Sorry!

 

My observation is that there are more carbon deposits on the plug. Worst than when it was on 2t.

However, this time, it isnt wet.

It is still a little brownish on the insulator tip for both so im not too worried.

Could the carbon deposits be from the residue from the 2t the previous time around?

 

Anyway, 2t is cost effective.

Anyone is well informed with 2t? Whats better than the shell's premium ranges?

 

Very tempted to go on the juice again. hehehe

Just tried it again after 5000km off the juice.

Results was effortless cold starting and extremely smooth cruising.

Using shell's VSX series. Really thick and in gold colour.

 

Bought LAB $3 unicube 2t yesterday for chain lubing purposes and realize that it flows really thin almost similar to a 20w50 oil. Reddish brown in colour. Dun dare to put it in my engine.

 

Any recommendations for 2t similar or better than shells vsx?

there is no way your shell VSX can be thicker or unicube "as thin as" a 20w50 engine oil.

Shells vsx is really thick.

Used to ride a vespa and there were some who uses 4t instead of 2t and swears by it.

Weirdly, its much much thicker than my stashes of 10w40 and 20w50 and the $3 2t that i got from ahboy. You dont have to buy one. Next time just shake the bottle from the shelf.
