I am gonna try this soon. Park my GF car infront of the bikelot, leave my laptop in back seat with web cam wired to the rear window. Record. Ride my bike park behind her car at the lot, leave my cashcard in the IU plus and nice lao pok ogk ff4 locked to back seat. Arm myself with a softball bat and wait.

If they operated as fast as the last time they took my cashcard (5mins?). Then we will be in for a good show. try detain him, if resist, say hello to mr happy bat.

They kope cashcard i still dont mind, cuz i careless, but last time when i rode skipper, my gf bought me this little turtle soft toy keychain that u can buy outside for like 50 cents??? i permantly attached it to my bike using the mirror. The jackarse actually cut away the string attaching the turtle to the keychain to steal of turtle. Been having a grudge agaisnt them since. Then recently friends CF led signals 4 pair all kena stolen there too. Time for payback!!!!

Bro you have to think over this very carefully...

1) First decide whether you are going to take legal action with them.

2) If you are, you can only catch them red handed, and call the police without using force to detain them.

Note: You must not be seen with the bat in the camera. You may be charge with assault or battering if a fight breaks out.

Also if the thieves get away after making the police report and you decide to go after them on your own the next time round, beating the crap out of them. The police will remember you, and ask you down for questioning, again you will be charge with assault with a deadly weapon.

3) If this is the course of action you are going to take, you should also be prepared to sacrifice the bait you have laid out, because you will only be trailing them if they try to take off, which means there is a very real chance that they will get away. Farther more, even if the theives are caught, the police will want to keep the stolen items as evidence, until the trial is over, so you may be with you FF helment and cash card for months.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

However from what you have said, it sound like you want to make this a personal thing.

Several things to take note of if you are going to take things into your own hands.

1) Will you operate alone? If you are, you have to decide what are you going to do if there are several of them and what to do if they are armed.

2) If you are going with your GF car and your bike, is your GF going to be the one driving? If she is, will she be safe?

3) If the laptop and camera are going to be in the car, what is your back up plan if the thieves target the car instead of the bike?

4) How far are you going to take things if things gets hairy? Will you only intimidate the suspect and frighten him into submission? Or will you carry out your own version of justice? What if he dies?

5) What will you do if the thief flees with your valuables? Are you going to pursue the thief or thieves through the shopping complex or along orchard road with a weapon in hand?

6) If you are seriously hell bent on this plan, you are going to need more muscle, how much time are you and your men prepared to put in to apprehend the thieves? And if a fight breaks out, are your friends prepared to take responsibility if something goes out of hand.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please think over it carefully before you do something you may regret later.

If you still want to catch the thieves, there is one way, that I have thought of which is relatively safe, but will take a lot of co-ordination and manpower.

It is an adaptation of the "Hammer and Anvil Tactic"

1) Get a group of like minded guys, 10 men or more. 7 bikes and 4 walkie talkies.

2) First the Anvil. 1 man will guard the Entrance to the shopping centre with a walkie and a 2nd man guard the stairs with a second walkie.

3) 3rd and 4th man will hide in the car with the video camera filming the bike and anyone coming near it. They will hold one of the walkie talkies too. And be the first ones to confront the thief. ie the first hammer.

4) The 6 remaining men will standby on bikes 1-2 floors below the baited bike in ambush. Arm one of them with 1 walkie talkie. They will be the Hammer to deliver the killing blow.

5) Set up 1 bike as bait with an alarm, the louder the better.

6) The men in the car should prep the men if they see anyone suspicious approaching the bait.

7) When the thieves trigger the alarm, the men in the car will drive right up to the thief at the bike, blocking his way to the upper floors, then Rev Engine, on High Beam and give him 1 chance to surrender. The thief will try to run, so the men guarding the stairs will have to stay cool and stand their ground, in case the thief tries to run into the shopping centre on foot.

8) On hearing the alarm, the 6 bikers waiting in ambush will ride upstairs to back up the men in the car. Ride up 6 abreast in a wedge shaped formation to block the way on case the thief has an accomplice waiting on a bike.

9) Should the thief manage to run into the building, before the 6 men stong back up arrive, the men guarding the stairs should not grapple or try to wrestle the thief in case he is armed with a knife/sharpen screwdriver.

He should instead hide at one corner to trip him (a good hard kick with a riding boot should do the trick) or shove the running thief sideways to force him to crash into a wall and then call for back up from the other 9 men.

In the worse case scenario, shout "Stop thief!" And let the security/or some hero help in stopping the thief. Do not endanger yourself.

10) Surround the thief/thieves, 10 men in helmet wearing hard knuckled riding

gloves should deter the thieves from retaliating.

11) Call the police and end it.

I parked at PS yesterday. I noticed my IU unit being flipped up! Luckily, I remembered to take my cashcard with me!

So, asking all you experienced bikers... Will covering your bike deter thieves? Or, what should we do?

Biking is something that everyone can learn and enjoy! :goodluck:

Hi, guys.. I just wanna share my experiences at PS these 2 days..

I'd parked my bike at PS yesterday, reached at 6pm, so needa pay ERP, cash card place in IU since leaving my MSCP.. reminded myself to take out after parking at PS..

Careless me, forgot to take out.. came back my bike, cashcard stolen.. btw, my IU is wrapped with the IU leather.. Some cheapskate guy walked to my bike and open the IU to take out my cashcard..!! this is day 1..

I cant blame anyone but myself that i'm careless..

Day 2!! Reached Orchard gate at 6.30++pm.. to my horror, ERP in operation.. made a left turn, bought a NEW cashcard at Dunlop St 7-11..

Travelled back and enter gantry.. Then kena traffic light, but using that time to take out my cashcard and keep in wallet..

SO I PARKED in PS again.. A Sat evening only some areas had ERP.. after my movie, when back to my bike.. To my horror, SOMEONE, that someone had opened up my IU unit again to see if there's any cashcard.. I know it because I had place the leather back in place nicely after I took my cashcard out..

Conculsion: at PS, may have someone or some I***T going around to open biker's IU to see if there's any cashcard.. Why these rats can't buy their own cashcard..?

Side story: My tankpad(the motorworld with warranty one) was stolen at my MSCP juz that one day w/o canvas.. FYI: that tank pad is repeelable and restickable.. But the rat could not get the pad fully because the most bottom part was blocked by my seat.. He just took the pad by tearing it off leaving the bottom piece because it's being blocked..

GUYS!! LADIES!! BIKERS!! Please be VIGILANT!! Help to look out for each other.. At my MSCP, I just met a fellow biker and joined his watch group.. according to him, he pointed out to me, those bikes that are in the watch group.. and told me they are keeping a lookout for each others' bike..

These thieves are normally travelling in bicycles with 1 or 2 some bike(most unmod wave or other 4 strokers).. Those one bicycles will get your bike parts while the ones one motorbike are the lookouts.. They seem to be a syndicate(juz our observation, no prove)..

FYI, most MSCP had CCTV cameras fitted at the entrance and exit.. At my MSCP, a scambler was stolen and recorded.. 2 guys went in on a TA, then exit without pillion, pillion become rider of stolen scambler.. but image is blurred, couldnt get the plate of the TA..

long story with so many encounter..... i also lost 2 cash carh in sp carpark there.... haiz... jus got myself to blame lor.. LL cant do anything much other than rattle about it

:p

Most probably they got one cleaner station near the entrance.....to see if u remove cashcard not.....then he inform accomplice at the staircase who will be on look out for ur bike......so any one wanna do another STING OPERATION?

Bring camera to film it.....bring cable ties to restrain suspect.....

Then we sell the clip to Mediacorp.....Vigilantes....

oh... I believe most of us who goes to PS via Cavenagh Road or from Orchard Road have to go past the ERP gentry before entering PS. No choice lah, bro!

I think all we can do is to double-check and triple-check to make sure that we don't leave our cashcards or any valuable stuff on our bikes!

However, I must say that everytime my bike is parked there, my IU unit is always flipped up!!!

PS always got theft cases. either cashcard else its accessories. look at the design of the carpark, the bike lots is at the end so that means it more easier for the thieives to operate. n like said eariler, there's an exit so it makes it even better for them. an escape route.

the parking there is free so we can't expect much from the management if we r to complain. its either we have to b more careful ourself or dun park there unnecessarily.

having heard all these cases, i dun frequent to PS anymore less taking MRT. even midnight movies, PS is not in my list anymore.
