wonder how are you going to "segregate"?

we can't even tell whether or not you are a biker in this singaporebikes.com forum.

i think a forum welcomes all walks of people even though they may not share the same profession.

Hi cstay66,

What we are discussing is that how we should protect the intention of sharing from abuse such as "copy and paste" then claiming the ownership. I had heard of such legal cases do exists. We also think that such abuse usually will deter further sharing of information.

Maybe you feel that its unnecessary? I would love to hear more from your perspective.

PS: I do ride a bike.

Hi Bro,

As much as I would like to support you on copyright, it is very difficulty / impossible to differentiate between "copy and paste" and original inputs. Anyway, I don't think any reputable safety practitioner would falsely claim ownership, no point in doing that.

Lastly, I feel that safety is so essential and a common knowledge, anybody (includes non-safety personnel) with an interest can just read up and share their knowledge. THanks

PS: I'm not a biker, but I'm a safety practitioner in SG.

just wonder how many of us surfing the internet, reading this forum right now are using some kind of "pirated", "illegally downloaded" softwares in their computer, knowingly or unknowingly?

want some control? put up a permit-to-download or permit-to-copy system lah.

when googles arrived. dream shattered.

well, i still wish to compile something, someday, for someone out there, with a fee, of course.

Hi cstay666,

I am not trying to argue or debate with you but I think I need to elaborate further.

We are not stop genuine professionals from sharing or using it. We are hoping to reduce the chances that the value of WSH professionals will depreciate.

I apologies if I had offended you in anyway during this communication. You are a senior to me in WSH industry and I will respect your views definitely.

Let me know if you really feel we should "open source" all information, not only to WSH professionals but also to "copy and paste" employers whom might not want to use our services anymore, to worker converts whom can barely spell English correctly.

I would definitely trust that you have your valid reasons.

Again, I apologize to everyone if I did offend you in anyway.

dear goondoo,

it was never my intention to argue nor my desire to debate. i am just another goondoo who share the same passion and profession as you. why all the "apologise" and "offend"? that's make me look bad and sound like i am the devil. is that why you crown me with 666 behind my initial? (joking lah, don't get frighten hor, i aint got horn lah).

i may be older than some of you here, but never was i (or am i or will i be) a senior to any in the wsh industry. afterall, there are mountains and gurus out there higher and better than what i did or who i am. they are the true masters who can hold their tongues. as for me, i am a blemish guy who cant control my utterance. pardon me. if all hold their tongues and keep their peace, hav so many forums but no one to chat also LL rite?

back to who should access the forum and who can access the info and would or may lead to plagiarism or copyright issues.....

it's you call lah.

OK, everything is cool here :)

Nevertheless you are still a senior to me, I'm still pretty new in this industry.

The idea of identifying individual is to assist the WSH personnel value, if it is going to cause so much inconvenience or sensitiveness that they refuse to contribute or join, then it would not have serve any purpose. Which is why your advice is necessary for the success of the forum. :)

Guys,

Please start posting in the wshforum too :angel:

Hehe, true true.. But with diligence and some luck, should be ok.

Wah, luck~? Leave nothing to luck. My advice, even if you are unlucky, kana a fatal accident, you must be smart and diligent enough to acquire the sufficient supporting evidence to prove that you are fulfilling your due diligence. To survive in the line, know your responsibilities, know your job, leave nothing to luck!

Yo bro,

Think you misunderstood my intention. I put diligence 1st what... that means I've covered whatever you've said. I believe everyone needs luck on everything you do, even crossing the road, you see 'green man' , see that all cars are slowing down , you cross the road, if unlucky , 1 car might just dash across and hit you... So still leave nothing to luck ? These are called accidents.

there are 2 schools of thought when it comes to accident prevention.

1st: all accidents are preventable.

2nd: no matter what you do accident still happen.

trust you belong to the 2nd group. admire ppl like you who live by luck. you are the happier group.

for me, i no luck one. so got to depend on a lot of hard work, even on the road. must be super alert lor, watch out for those that may come hitting you. walk another 500m to use the zebra crossing or traffic light crossing. dare not to dash across mah. even in the middle of the nite, wait patiently for the green man before i cross the small lane in one ulu part of singapore. apply brake in advance, always make sure i keep to speed limit. watch out for pedestrains, and other traffic users. make way, wave to say thank. slow down and stop when see amber light. never stop along single or double yellow line, never travel on bus lane.

i need luck.
