i dont think is normal. they can use your driving license for registration instead of IC, that's what other shops practice. think you get back your ic asap. it's nvr safe when your ic is not in your hands.

When i got my bike, they took my IC, issued me a slip of paper, and the next day asked me to collect my IC from them.

not normal or you never buy bike before?

or your licence got put your home address? :sian:

for all registration in Singapore, be it with LTA, stat boards or private entities, they only accept IC. unless it's only for verification purposes whereby a licence with your details like DOB, IC No. will be more than sufficient.

so, dun talk cock, OK? :)

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

provided the registration is done by then with LTA. if your bike is on-order, most likely the period of time your IC is on-hold with bikeshop will be longer..

I just got them to photocopy my ic and driving license. I didn't allow them to hold my ic n license. All the info they need is there, I don't see why they need my actual ic or driving license. I don't think they encountered many of my sort of requests judging from their reactions. But it went fine. Still got my bike w/o problems.

In some cases, the ORIGINAL IC is needed. So when you went for voting you used your photocopied IC front and back?

Haha. Oh wait. You must be below 21. :cheeky:

erm.. its not about using photocopied NRIC/license as a substitute for the original NRIC/license. The original NRIC/license can be produced when required, I'm just not comfortable with having the shop have possession of my actual NRIC for a few days.

When i bought my bike, the shop only retain my driving license.... Not sure if other shops doing the same but i got an acknowledgement slip saying they retain for processing purposes

haix suppose to get my bike today BUT the shop got my chassis number n engine number all wrong. nw they had to change my box n bike number plate into another bike, tml than can take. hmm wat will happen if i happen to ride out the bike with the wrong chassis n engine number? wil kena fine? cos the bike technically is not registered under my name if the engine n chassis number is wrong..
