i dun know, probably i was just too tired, so lack judgement, and i mite brake too hard, causing the front wheel to lock, lucky at slow speed, am I a bad rider? or should i change to a lighter bike, can recommend?

3, 2 involves me flying off the bike, 1 involves my raincoat pants getting stuck on the footrest then me falling with the bike while stationary. Second or first hand will still heart pain for me.

Been riding a KRR for 7 years before i changed bike. Had 3 major accidents on expressway, think I'm gonna clear Singapore's expressways haha.

First time at AYE, was still P-Plate, bugger in front braked for ERP, his brakelights were faulty. When I noticed, I had to jam my brakes really hard, rear wheel lifted off the ground and I flipped the bike. My bike flew over me when I was in the air. Cosmetic damage to the bike, had abrasions on my right arm and my legs. FF helmet saved my face from being scraped off the tarmac and gloves saved my palms from disappearing.

Second time at CTE, overconfident and was weaving through heavy traffic, misjudged and hit the left brake light of a taxi. Bike spun around, faced an oncoming lorry and went into the barrier. Luckily the lorry stopped in time, I walked away with only a swollen right arm. Bike also only suffered cosmetic damages.

Third time at KJE, just woke up. Still sleepy and I didn't check blindspot properly, lane changed into a lorry. Fell instantly, abrasions only on my legs. Bike also only suffered cosmetic damages.

In between, I had other minor accidents. In my newbie phase, target fixation and went into a kerb while cornering. Or even falling at 10km/h in my carpark because of oil at the hump.

Moral of the story is that the KRR has frigging tough fairings and a sturdy frame haha.

The real moral should be to wear proper protection and be prepared. I have been lucky to be able to walk away with minor injuries and learn from my mistakes. :D

Hmm.. I seldom encounter such taxi or lorry drivers. Not even regular car drivers. One thing I notice about some riders, because I some times drive or sit in my friend's car. Some riders ride very slow and are oblivious to cars coming from behind, learn to give way to faster vehicles, no matter the speed limit.

Drivers tend to be pretty friendly to me most of the time, perhaps cos I often give way or I just accelerate out of sight. But some riders are *smack forehead* ride in the 'bikers lane' at 50km/h and don't know how to give way to the 'train' behind.

I fell once while going upslope on those circular multi story carpark. Car in front brake, I brake, lose balance, fell sideways like an idiot. I suck at these circular slopes.

I started riding at a very late age... late 20s... & been riding since the day I got my license and never had an accident so far. So could the main factor be the maturity of riders that allow better judgement? I dont exactly ride slow either... rode 90% of the times on expressway & at lane 1 / lane split most of the times...

but no matter how fast I am, I will give way to other vehicles if they are faster than me.. no need to wait to be flashed at.. so i echo shockard's sentiments.. maybe the older u r, the more scared die u r, so u will make sure u perform the regular safety checks while riding.. checking blind spots, looking into mirror to evaluate traffic behind u, avoid "kuku" looking drivers, swaying cars.. more alert to other vehicles front wheel movements/ anticipate when other vehicles changing lanes to compensate for those who did not signal.. etc etc

Been riding for 18 years. Fallen off once, 6 mths after getting my 2B.

Very important to be 100% alert on the roads. Know your bike, and leave your ego at home.

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator

when learning bike, a few times. but less than 5 times. mostly to do with bumping into the kerb or approaching the plank at an angle. once i kicked bike into neutral gear on the figure of 8 course. haha.

on the roads, twice. both within the 3 months of riding. Was too tired and didn't execute a U-turn correctly, I ended up on the road. Minor scratches to the bike. Felt so embarrassed. The second time was in a bumper to bumper traffic on the CTE-PIE, it was raining. I was queuing up to enter the PIE. I was careless and braked too hard, and my rear wheel skidded. I fell down, got a burn on my calf due to exhaust pipe. Felt scared and silly, luckily got an uncle on a scooter stopped and help me.

seems being tired is quite a common reason for mishaps... most of us myself included, will just try to get home as quick as possible instead of stopping by somewhere for a quick rest/drink to recharge abit...

but sometimes the accident is really cos unlucky.. saw a lorry eating into the oncoming lane when turning right at a junction. The bike had to quickly paddle backward and managed to avoid being hit...

drop thrice, but never while on the roads.

twice, on the track, at high speeds, saved by my protection gear.

once after over-revving on a low speed wheelie ......

don't get disheartened. happens to everybody! i dropped my very first bike 5 times in 1 year. i was fresh out of cl2b and not used to the weight of the hyosung comet. 200kg!!! also the seat height is HIGH! worst, I'm SHORT! and my iu always seems to fail at erp gantries that are on slopes!

laugh it off and take it in your stride!

Gave a little smirk when I flew off the bike, luckily small bike but it was still a needless waste of money, worth 2k++, no laughing matter there, look back can laugh but how close was I to death, twice. In a span of 3 months.

Same here. My 1st skid was when i was 4 months into my 2b. Did a U-turn at 70kmph just to test how good my rubbers were. Needless to say it was a stupid move and I'm thankful i'm alive.

Personally i am also quite a frequent bike dropper.. lol. People like us need to seriously consider sliders, engine guards or crash bars. Or some solid panniers.

Fell off your bike la... not drop la... hello.

Raptor here fell so many times he's equally comfortable on the saddle of the bike as well as sliding across the hard tarmac of the road.

27 times is on the tracks... on the roads so far its 5 times... all self skid.
