i jumped from a 2-stroke Phantom150 onto a CBR600RR. nothing to it really.

attitude is most important. discipline to learn a new bike and be safe before you 'play' in any way.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

I did the jump from 200 to 600

the power is really astonishing!

Nothing to worry about handling the difference in the CC

just worry that you will not be lure to speed way above the legal requirement

I'm considering to switch to a class 2 sports bike from my 150cc motorbike, but I'm afraid the weight and power differences might be too much to handle and I might crash the class 2 bike after I ride out from the motor shop or sometime soon after I start riding it.

Anyone with a similar experience of upgrading past class 2A before? Advisable to skip 2A or better to slowly progress through the classes?

Quite possible.. Cuz the weight is a lot heavier. Power is a lot more.. If u r confident, then go for it... If not, settle for 2A n ride for a year or so....then upgrade class2.

I believe from 2B to a 600CC is quite alright.

Rode R6 '05, CBR600RR '09, Fazer 600 '03 before, i feel that 600CC is quite similar to a 400CC in the low RPMs, the difference is in the high RPM where the power really kicks in.

But for litre-class or higher CC bike, the torque starts from the low rpm. Very easy to wheelspin or wheelie, so have to be careful with the throttle.

Other than that, take it slow and get used to the bike.

Most importantly, don't be overly confident !!! :)

Slow down abit, smell the air and enjoy the scenery.

Caught the touring bug once again!

In the hands of an egoistical idiot.. any bike of any cc can be dangerous. The size or the cc of the machine does not make it dangerous.

The rider makes it dangerous.

I like the way you say it here. :)

I love riding. :cheeky:

Just go ahead.. Be confident.. Afterall u dont take class 2 for nothing.. I frm kr jump to cbr1000rr. After a month , i was popping up my front wheel!! Hhaahah.. Just ride safe on the road, follow speed limit should be ok

Hmm u must be abit faster in alertness cus the bike is faster..big bike 90km/h = kr 120km/h roughly around there ... N the body posture for sportbike of class 2 oso diff cus your body lean lower than usual makin E BRAKING a bit different like usual..

Another factor to keep in mind is the type of bike. A honda phantom is a very easy bike to ride, it doesnt matter if you short also. A super 4 is still ok, A GSR 400 is like a huge byson, even though it is naked, I wouldn't find it comfortable since I am not 6 ft tall.

From a Super 4 to a Yamaha FZ1 would be a logical shift for me since FZ1 is also not very bulky.

A bike a Hayabusa, is only in the dreams for me. Its just too huge, bulky and sporty for me, haha

Right hand control. Remember that.

If you can't, then go lock yourself in your room and use your left hand.....

Hard time getting and following that.. :D

OK. Simplify.

If on road, your right hand always misbehave *Weng Weng Weng*

Then go lock yourself in room and use left hand *Fap Fap Fap*

Everybody will be safer. :p

It all depends on the rider....if a rider is aggresive, even on bicycle he cannot control. If u get a Class2 bike, all u have to do is to take it slow for the first few weeks until u really get the hang of it. as long as ur right hand dont be itchy, ok liao. :cheeky:

Time flies...its been 12 years since I started riding and am enjoying every moment of it and will continue to do it.

Remember, more fap fap fap with right hand = stronger wrist muscles from the exercise = more precise wrist control = better rider. So fap.

Personally, jumping from 2b to 2 may save you money. But i think there is merit in going to 2A first. To me it's safer, and more importantly getting stuck on a 2b for an extra would have been excruciating for me. No offense to any 2b riders out there. Just my humble opinion

Indeed it save $$$.. To get class 2A bike then upgrade to class 2 bike a yr later not worth it.. Like my cikgu tells me, when u got class 2 license, ur expected to b able to ride any type of bike irregardless if e cc.. N yup, how true is e statement.. If ur afraid of not able to get use to it, simple, ride more n within a short time u b able to ride it then understand it n love it...
