Getting my first bike. ADVICES NEEDED!!!!

Hello, newbie here and currently taking my bike lessons and suddenly thought of getting my bike as soon i pass my tp.

So need some advices from you guys, how much roughly the insurance would costs(18 years old)......

im planning on getting rx-z or probably 125z as i would be needing it for transport to school.

and any other things i have to keep in mind while buying a bike??(transfer of ownership etc.) thanks guys!!! cheers!!

IMO if you want a transport bike, try not to get those 2, 2 smokes are a little higher in maintenance and petrol use, plus they drink 2T as well. Try to finance yourself for a 4 stroke, their resale value is generally better too.

hmm but the 4 strokes i could see selling right now are kindda expensive.....mostly 2k and above :/ somemore 125z and rx-z are my favourites. hehe ^^V

You may want to do some window shopping for the bikes that you are interested and check out the the insurance and market value of the bikes. Do bring along someone with experience on bikes while you shop. Insurance companies nowadays do charge a premium on new riders / drivers. Like what shahrul_azmil3 mentioned, it's probably going to be above $1,000 for new and young riders.

Ya balls. My YBR when i was 19 the 3rd party insurance cost $971. So damn expensive...

Salam bro Afiq.. The hidden cost such as admin fees, early settlement fees, late installment fees etc. r some of which u nd to take note.. Some bike shop like those newbies coz can slaughter u guys like nobody business... IMO, get sum1 that have experience (n i really mean experience n knowledge)... I reckon u to chck loois motor n speak to Uncle Lee, no frills n no thrills n definately no hidden cost.. Im not affiliated with him but as a repeat customer, im satisfied.. Price wise is abit above wat being quoted by other shops but its no issue for me coz i prefer a stress free deals rather than cheap but problematic.. Good luck bro
