exhaust, number plate, led signal light i guess. i guess anything thats not original would be considered illegal to them, they wanted to penalize me on tank lift too.

nice bob man! Ah, even if your no plate and stop light is at the tail end, they will still stop you with your bike looking like that. so what the hell, just have fun with it! i got sidemount tail lights too! but then again, i only ride my bobber on weekends. my way of escaping authorities. haha

 

My thoughts exactly! It's already in such an offensive state (at least to the LTA), that I was like what da faack lah, just bite the bullet and forget about it! Just got this machine so been riding it more often than I should... planning to ride like once or twice a week only once the honeymoon period is over! Hahaha!

Side mounted tail lamp and reg plate is deemed illegal. Now u know why the HD Seventy-Two in Sillypore has its stock side mounted tail lamp & reg plate relocated to rear fender before they could be allowed in. And speaking of rear fender..... yours is a sunshade... not a fender. Hahahaha!!!

 

Yup...figured that out too, but decided what the heck! Laws are like plates, they were made to be broken.

It is a Harley peanut tank. Changed the rear brakelight and a z-bar handlebar. Still got rear signals and air filter to mod.

ive been wanting to customize my own bike and i saw a desirable look recently from what it looks like its a TA200.

 

I just wan my bike to look very classic, almost like cafe racer , without engine mods and exhaust pipe mods etc.

 

May i ask you guys :

1)Is modding just the aesthetics illegal in singapore?

2) Is this picture's mod illegal in singapore?

3) Around how much do i have to spend to achieve this kind of WWll Classic bike looks?

2) Is this picture's mod illegal in singapore?

3) Around how much do i have to spend to achieve this kind of WWll Classic bike looks?

 

1) Different schools of thought. Ultimately up to vehicle inspector's own discretion.

2) Handlebar, mirrors, paintjob. I guess nothing illegal here.

3) Handlebar ($100), mirrors ($20), paintjob (ranging from $5 rattlecan to $300 spray shop)

Hey there! Me too! kinda... I've only been riding for a little over 2 years. TA200, that's a Phantom I'm sure. I own one myself. Love it to bits! But a cafe racer it most certainly is NOT! Haha!

 

The mods in the pic look fine, but like terraboi has rightly mentioned, it's entirely up to the inspectors' discretion. If you're very young, then they may kuai lan you a little. Hate to say this but sometimes race also matters...

 

Still, I can see where you're coming from. WWII styling will need to be a kinda olive, or Matt Green. Then try to get army-surplus style side-saddles mounted! Oh, and you'd need to get those spoked-rims too! HeeHee!

That's why some groups prefer FB cos it can be restricted view only instead of open platform like forums.

 

I'm sort of handicapped for night rides or weekends cos I'm still serving diaper duties. And only be expected to be released next year this time.
