The washing machine method (with the laundry bag) is a great idea. Very convenient and fuss free. I would try it if I have an extra helmet to spare. Currently, I use the manual method. Get a pail, put the detergent and water in it, toss the helmet padding into it and start squeezing, rubbing and cleaning them. It gives the arms a bit of a work out. After that you can immediately sun it and dry it.

I am going add some dettol after the wash next time and see if it helps even more.

try not to squeeze too much. Cos the sponge will wear out even faster with all those squeezing in the water. Spin dry or use a dryer will be a better option. By squeezing the sponge will get softer and end up your helmet from size M will become size L

I have a Schubeth C3. Does anybody know if they can change sponge and padding. Great helmet, very comfortable, but not cheap. Condition/appearance almost like the day after I bought it, after three years. Even the inside where the stink looks as good. Just the damn STINK.

Had a friend who got the muc off helmet liner spray from motorworld. He said it works. For me, i always use a bala clava or helmet liners

i use tea leaves to absorb the smell and damp or sometimes the soap paper cover if i want nicer smell..

speed and be home 5 mins early or 7 days late.

Can't be helped... unless you wrap a plastic bag around your head too. But I found a bala helps more than the simple skull-cap kind of helmet liner. Since sweat sort of drips out the side and back of the head...

Stay safe. Always check the blind spot.

my helmet only allows the removal of the cheek pads, all other paddings cannot be removed, especially the neck roll which trapped so much sweat.

I just soaked the entire helmet into a large pail of warm water and some detergent. soaked it overnight, let it dry for a couple of days and it worked.

Just that now have to wear a bandana, to prevent the sweat from staining the neck roll.. my next helmet shall have completely removable lining..
