There is one thing i just dont understand. What is soooo lucrative and great about their shopping mall that these riders willing to take the risk of losing their xxxx-xxxxx bikes for?

You save SGD 30 on the groceries and ended up losing xxxx-xxxxx bike. That worth it?

Most funny is worried here, worried there. Scared here and scared there. hmmmmm

If only there was a 'Like' icon here.. I would click on it. Exactly my sentiments.

No wonder ppl say Sgporeans like to be an ASS-UMPTION. After so many good darn stupidility years has passed, you are still as stupid as you are years ago. The more bikes you ride and change, the more ASSiplity you have become. LOL.

tired of up-ping of your Komine-Riding-Jacket thread already? nobody will buy yours as its too stinko.

so You are very brave ah? Doesnt mean you are in the civil defence. Then you are braver than the rest of us la. Just more braver to sit in the air con road all day nia

God bless the road and my house.

Ah, but PB79 has a point. There's always a risk attached to everything.

We could ask:

Why go M'sia at all? Why go to NSH and risk crashing out? Risk getting hijacked by rempits?

Why go on Fri/Sat nite dinner trips to M'sia just to save a few bucks on Seafood?

Why go on riding trips to KL? Malacca? You could very well get your bike stolen there too? Why not just fly?

Why ride to Thailand? You could die when a chew cheng Thai driver pulls out from a side road?

Fuuck la, why go race track in M'sia? Race in Singapore la. Safer here mah. :p

Some ppl go to a shopping mall not just to shop for groceries. That's probably a side reason. Maybe they're there to get a massage, go eat some food, shop for stuff that they can't get in SG. Do you think you can get everything in SG? Some "under table" stuff can't be found here.

And that's why I agree with him. Singaporeans can be like frogs in well. Because of our nannied society. Low crime. Safe streets. Once you go out to other parts of the world, you feel insecure. But you soon realize that that's what most of the rest of the world is like.

Lastly, why get so personal with him? LOL. Nothing to do with his Komine jacket.

Cant stop but to deter/prevent by visible, audible methods.

Metals can be cut(if not dismantled) and bikes can be easily carried.

Other methods

Is by the discussion on the gps unit if bike is already stolen.

Best is to go as a group and have 1-2 Sentry. Dun park in buildings.

Careful on ebay china disc locks. If ppl push your bike, it will warp your rotor and u cant open it by key( happened to me n i had to saw it off)

Can get the solid hardened locks.

Boleh land mah....not only bike and car get stolen in malls, people also kenna rob...too many cases in KL....yet their polis claim crime rates has gone down by doing magic to statistics through "reclassification" of crimes category.

Election coming, that's the motive.

Biggest joke in the world....JB polis chief's home kenna burgulared a few years back, and he kenna tied up by burgulars too! Damn malu!

After that incident, the only untouchable people left would be the royal family. :)

or dont even go to their shopping mall..

Always know the area you park, don't take chances. I use thick cable bicycle lock and lock my wheels to something.

Also depends on what bike you ride....some are very prone to theft. Expensive bike, better stay away unless you know how to handle security riding around.

I like to consider Harley and Ducati....but a big pullback for me is cannot use it to chong JB because I usually ran errants in JB alone.

Hi All,

I have heard that if your bike is parking at the jb shopping mall basement carpark, it will end up the whole bike getting lost or up the lorry haha so I like to seek some advice is there anyway to prevent getting stolen. Right now my bike have the alarm but which I think is not enough to prevent stolen at jb.

Could some experience bro or sis can advice some tips.....

yah...this one cannot play play....before I use locks on my bike, I always make sure I have the keys first...not one, but two seperate keys.

Dun one to be a stupid idiot happy happy lock my bike until damn shiok...then realise the key for lock is at home in sillypore!

wa buy that put on your brake disc, but then if u lost your key ....

even with this lock..............

what's stopping thieves from taking the whole bike but leaving your brake disc on the floor?

firstly, the PL362 shackle clearance measure 25mm x 30mm. the diameter of the shackle is 15mm. that tell us it is not mean to be use as a disc lock as it will not fit most type of disc lock. it commonly use with a good quality chain like Almax 19mm (read 19.7mm) chain to secure on a solid object.

i do agree that any practical measures can be defeated. thief are not stealing bike for the challenge but making a quick and easy buck out of it. if i am stealing a bike and realise this bike have a decent defense, i will move on the the next easier target. doesn't that make more sense then keep picturing a "determine" thief will go out of the way to get the bike? will you do that if you are the thief? for sure i will not unless it is a rare bike that i can make a killing out of it. it is so much easier to look for the next target for sure.
