S1 Motoring @ UBI

Hey guys. I just bought a bike @ S1 Motoring (Ubi) from Ah Mok. He listed everything down in black and white for me and did not rush me. Asked me to think it over for a few days. I did that and eventually decided to get it from him. I've not collected the bike yet though. Anyone else had any dealings with Ah Mok or S1 Motoring in general. Mind sharing your experiences?

a gd shop i cud say.. my cuz bought an x1 frm him 3 mths back.. he let my cousin deposit 50 bux ferz while he settle da insurance fer da bike on dat day so he can collect da nxt day.. while my cousin came da followin day to pay da remainin 950 as dwnpayment.. now datz wat i call trust..

Bought my K7 drz from Ah Mok. I surveyed quite a number of shops for my DRZ. Best thing about Ah Mok is that he broke everything down to me without even me asking him. Told me to think about it overnight too.

 

I got my drz for 12.7k. I was offered 12.4k by L*** S*** and *-Motor**g at Bt Merah but both quoted me those prices without even calculating my insurance and age. Asked the latter to break everything down for me and told them I'm very interested in it but needed to know the exact cost. Simply told me "Don't worry..confirm 12.4" one. Suffice to say, I was very skeptical so I got it at S1. At least I feel more secure.

I got my previous Gixxer400 from Ah Mok. He explained everything swee swee to me and there was no hidden costs. The bike also got no problem. No complaints from me...

good service i can say.

my bike is bought from them 2months ago.

1)list down the price in detail

2)do the insurance and road taax

3)service the bike before handling over

4)no complain during return service within the warranty period

 

that time also wanna test if they sell product to customer with high price(oh...felt so bad). So i ask them whether they sell racing footrest, throttle grip. I expect them to say yes, and quote me a price. Instead, they ask me to go LAB cos cheaper and more variety. wow...so impress for their professionalism and thoughtfullness toward customer.

i hav no idea of the reputation of dis shop... but a friend had a bad experience wit dis shop..

 

he reserved a cbr 1000 at S1, with black & white all that. the shop promised him dat he can reserve it 1st, sign evrytin & pay later.. thats what my friend did, & on the day he wanted to downpayment, he saw with his own eyes sum1 rode off with that bike..

 

& what did the boss say?? sori, previous owner decided not to sell.... or izit he got a better buyer?? but still, its all in black & white already, also, the shop could at least call....

- took over friend's x1, want to settle instl balance, got early settlement fee

abt 500 more leh and it was nt stated earlier..

some shop will give discount if settle early

- canceled insurance wit them till now stil waiting for the refund...

Ok my "love affair" with this bunch of bike shops started with me getting my

2B license year mid 2003

 

Bought a FV plate KR (IU faulty) at their first shop i think at Yew Heng Moto @ eunos beside caltex

(FYI S1 UBI,M1 Upr Changi, Albert B.MERAH is one family)

Bike Price $3800

Down $1500

Installment 48X120= $5760 (Stupid me) Still very young lah so eager to get first bike

 

Trade in with RXZ at S1 after 3 year plus get only $1750 for bike

Minus $1080 balance minus freaking $200 early settlement fee.

Thus i basically down my RXZ $470 plus top up $230 to make it $700 bucks

So only make $470 from my sale but total i paid is $7460 for the freaking KR Albert still owes me a freaking IU..My bike no IU from the day i bough it until i traded it for my RXZ

 

RXZ i bring out from them got freaking electrical problems. They give me one month warranty but the problem never solve. So after warranty over they ask me to pay even though they never fix my bike electrical problem. In the end i give away the bike...Meaning more money lost. So from now on i never trust these blood suckers.

I bought my X1 from them before...at S1 in ubi...Bloody hell never service and change the engine oil! When 1 mth later i wanna change my engine oil at other workshop,the mechanic gave me a shockin look,the engine oil didnt came out so he poke n poke and come out a very thick black sludge.....damn it...

yes ubi have a total of 3 shop 2 s1 n 1 is call yew heng....

wan to buy bike buy fr ah mok....

the overall big boss is yew heng credit....

then albert is their nxt big sho at bukit merah

follow by s1 moto n yew heng moto then follow by m1 at changi.

frankly albert reputation might nt b tat gd....

i experience b4 1st hand but so far wif ah mok at YEW HENG MOTO at ubi (right beside Extreme) he is damn gd...!!!!

1 to 2 mths warranty !!!!

yes early settlement fees is a must n=wadays....

their pricing quite attractive but there are more ways to get yr bike price cheaper...

like starting at the cOE for example....

I got my phantom from ah mok too, I found him to be an great guy. He explained loads of stuff to me (first time buying bike), never rushed me and even asked me to go to other shops to recce before deciding. In fact, he acted more like a friend than a sales person. When I did get the bike from him, he broke down the cost for me and put the OTR price in black and white. Collection was smooth, just paid up and did abit of paperwork and the bike was already there and properly done up. No changes in price, what was promised was delivered. I can't say about the main S1 branch or yew heng, but getting a bike from ah mok should be pretty hassle-free judging from my own experience and those of other forummers.
