Ya... this Saturday will have to bring youngest w me while another two are at some activity... as for nap time... hb not around to see also.... he needs to test helmet size 😂

Size and fit 😂 some helmet fits round head some fit flat and some fit cone shaped head better…

when you put the helmet on, feel for pressure points on the top of the head. If you feel it pressing at some spots on your head then try another helmet. You’ll be able to understand what I mean. Try different brands because shapes usually stays the same for the same brand.
Open face helmet usually are not as bad because they are generally lighter so it doe not have as much weight to push down on your head. But full face and especially flip ups helmets will be more profound.
flipup are the heaviest btw…

Huh.. no la.. u wun be going so fast till u tumble until like tt la.. in the circuit the most u're only going around 30-40kmph nia.. somemore 1st lesson is teach u go around the nursery.. by then u would noe how to move around n change gear le.. shld take about 2-3 lesson 1 to control the bike.. after tt is the obstacle courses.. max u'll only be in gear 2.. even if u bang kerb the most u'll be jumping off the bike nia.. wun fly de.. if u cannot control the bike, u cannot go on the road also.. the bike wun just drop n make u fly when u're on the move. Most of the time it drop is when u bang kerb or lose balance when u stop..

Oh btw, just in case u all didnt noe.. dont buy the riding theory book.. u can download it from the spf website

https://www.police.gov.sg/Advisories/Traffic/Traffic-Matters

Under the I'd like to know, find the online learning portal for the theory books. Its free

Thanks for the insight... yes, will take it easy and try to keep on the "beast".. :D Thanks so much for the links... missed the chats here...was really busy with work but managed to get something this weekend....

😂😂😂 how many were trainers? 😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫

Ah wait ah… you’ll be wearing arm and knee guards. Those for roller blading type. If u don’t mind sharing then no need to buy… else like me I prefer to just have my own set and just bring it every time I go for class.

just get a pair of arm sock, guards and wear jeans. You’re set for 2B. Arm socks is cooling and looks cool too. Hehehe

Cause no air flow… imagine all the bikes, cars and lorry engine running and all the hot air stuck at ground floor with no wind… tell me hot or not? 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵

I am not for sharing my underpants also.. so yes, will buy own gear... :D I'll buy the knee guards and elbow guards.. I will use it as "learning" cost.

odd... why didn't they take your eyesight test when you register...

For gloves, get one that fits. Its important because you need to control your throttle and clutch well. And being able to feel it is important. If you are getting a leather pair, it can be a little tight because it will stretch.

For a start... personally I would recommend you to get packages to kick start the learning. Nothing too fancy, just to get a feel and know what you want eventually. You'll want a helmet to fit your bike color eventually and gloves that is nice and cozy. So i would recommend this as a start. I think the sapphire evo package looks decent.

https://helmetboys.com/collections/student-learner-packages

After that...

There are some shops which are more popular among the bikers in sg.

Here's a few headsup and clue what its like in each shop IMO.

Motoworld - Free and easy nice place to shop around and is big enough. Alot of non PSB approved helmet. So look before you buy.

LimAhBoy/Regina - Hard to find parking, don't expect any service. You need to know what you want, get it and move along.

Chong Aik - Quite cozy, but pricy. Service ok depending on who's there. Parking by the road side. need to wait a bit.

Racing World - Atas price... for branded items... Kinda like walking into the LV of motorcycle gears imo... great service. But overpriced. Easy to find parking.

Motoburner - Lesser known shop but the owner does carry some pretty good stuff.

I went to L.A.B/Regina for my helmet just today, Saturday 25 June 2022... a shoutout to Dion (he could be as young to be my son, I think in the range of 14-16 max), a cool dude who was very helpful. Dion asked me what I wanted and I said.. MT helmet opened face.

He let me try out the various sizes, and thankfully, I went down to the showroom to try, as I thought I was a "L", with my previous helmet, but this time.... gulp.. I'm a "big-head".. hahha..

... while too young to ride a bike, he showed me how to flip up the helmet and put down the darkened visor which was in-built. I actually asked if he was Lim Ah Boy's son.. he gave me a flat "I'm-not-amused-at-all" look + "no"... hahaha..

Overall a great experience to get my learning gear. :D Very friendly and spent time explaining to me about the fit. (I'm glad I don't age-judge and I learn from any age! - try to see 2 meanings in that)

Will update as I go along getting gear and when I can finally get to the practical lesson.

I'm heading up North since a long time... so might bear with off-topics post....

Next, I need to get the guards but likely from Carousell...

And shout out to you and all those here who contribute so that those who are embarking on this journey can learn about what to get and things to do.. :)

I was there too! This morning!  Did the boy in a blue tshirt attend to you too? He's 15 😂 my son's age (I told him that...he wasn't too impressed when I said he gives me the same vibe (the way he answers) as my son 😂 - his co worker said that's the boss' son 😜

we bought our helmets from them because the other shop didn't have size for my hb (XXL!)

anyway, we also bought guards from them. Stuff still in the boot. Not relevant photo - my daughter saying she's very bored. 😂 she walked from Desker to Kelantan.

Usually helmet last about 2-3 years.. so u can find excuse after 1 year.. 😝😝

p plates usually will drop helmet a few times.. so use yr current one first until u accidentally scratch yr “visor”.. then change new one lor.. 😏

My full face. 7 years old, and can't seem to find a better one. Even the newer design isn't better. Weird. Well at least the shell is still in almost perfect condition. The pads have been replaced twice and visor... well... ALOT of times... each visor is about 60-80 dollars depending on where i get it. Original clear ones at that hehe.

wah carbon material~ don't drop hor... once drop it really needs to be changed.

Got me curious how the review was for your shark cause i don't know that brand well.

Pretty good helmet it seems. But my most important item it didn't do so well which is noise. So I think i'll stick to my Shoei... hehee

I wear specs too and this does well for me. I'm looking at this... but like i mentioned... GT air strangely is quieter than GT air2...
