I found out I hadn’t fully registered with verification of license and complimentary insurance. No practical lessons until all the theory lessons are done which is “okay”. Was nice seeing bikers in the circuit and waiting for my turn to be there. 

Went for the course briefing and will do lesson RTL 1.02 and BTL 1.01 (though no test to be taken). Will log in and check it out.

but now shld be done with the verification and insurance already rite? oh.. i just went to see the course structure.. so mafan still need to clear the theory.. anyway since it is online then i think u can just let it run in the background while u bz with other stuffs ba haha

Hahaha; I’ll listen as I’ll try to learn to stay safe… besides.. think some of the things in it might come out in the test….  I’m really happy you have your 2B! Which thread are you on to hear about your adventures?

hmm.. mainly is BTT which u should already know since u have been driving la.. althou there may have other bad habits kicking in too.. hahaha.. i remember when i was taking theory 1-4 i juz put the video in the background n just listen to it only..

Just an update; since I actually registered in proper form at BBDC, it seems that more slots are open for the theory lesson. Yes, that's right, until one register; you won't get to see much slots for theory. So, next week is dedicated to listen to

1) Basic Theory 1.01
2) Basic Theory 1.02

3) Riding Theory 1.02 - (1.01 was cleared on a very challenging Saturday).

 

Next is to go to buy some shoulder and knee guards.

More importantly, is to study for the RTT test before actually touching the tarmac.

You are very right on the tedious nature to just clear theory... but it's fine.. I'm happy to be on the journey...

I came straight from Second Link to BBDC to do up the administration. After 3 hours on the road.... Yup, really want to get things right.   How's your MSX? Post more picks of the bike! Sounds really exciting! Finally riding..

Yayyy faster clear the theory n u can start on the practical le~ for RTT u can take during lesson 4 or 5.. as long as u clear b4 ur road lessons which is lesson 6 can already.. cos u only need to pass RTT to apply PDL to go on the road.

Elbow n knee guards can buy from the sch also if they have stock.. i bought mine from cdc last time at $25. Bbdc should be got sell also ba? If not L.A.B also have.. u shld buy there when u go buy ur helmet tt time then can ask for a bundle discount.. haha

Still trying to get used to the bike since its very different from the sch bike.. but so far so good riding on the road.. just abit scary when trying to do lane split.. still gotta grow more guts n skills on that.. waiting for u n jane to join us on the road too! Hehe

he just need to go through the lessons only.. no need take the test.. like a recap la.. i that time at SSDC also need to go through the e learning.. probably becos RTT inside also got basic theory questions i guess?

Yes, will try the practical and would love to join all the rest of the bikers on the road. Yea, I feel for bikers who do “lane split” as I think it’s unique in Malaysia and Singapore in a way…  

Yup, will go get the guards soon.. I’ve still have a week…. I’ve to put in time for RTT to make sure that is cleared

You are right and will not be complacent. Will listen in on the lessons as quite sure the RTT can be challenging…

I bought my guards from LAB.... $20 per set.

Do they teach lane splitting?

ah RTT not challenging la.. the highway code u should already know ma.. then the RTT is just basic maintenance for the bike.. like clutch and brake free play how much.. chain slack how much.. which gear to be on.. the rest is the same as BTT..

nope, they dun teach lane splitting.. but they teach plank n slalom to make sure u noe how to control the bike.. hahaha

BTT is permanent so since u already have driving license, u dun need to retake BTT.. since u dunno when you will finish ur lesson, it is actually better to take RTT when u're at lesson 4 or lesson 5 cos RTT only last for 1 year.. nv manage to get any other lessons ah? or you haven finish the full enrolment yet?

Ya... haven't finish full enrollment but time ticking already. Must do the eyesight test before I can book any practical lessons. So now bua long long.

u really need to go weekly lor.. if not just pass your lesson in like 1st or 2nd try.. on avg i repeat like 3 times for each lesson?

in real life, yes but dont road hog.. in theory, always keep left unless overtaking.. haha

irl when I see bikes line splitting between the two right most lanes on expressway, I worry for them... cos cars can go very fast also and if they're changing lanes at that speed and never check blind spot, one knock and the bike is off...

Actually at higher speeds I think most sane riders don’t lane split… I usually lane split at speeds 30-50ish like in a mini jam. And we’ll if 2 vehicles are side by side.. there are risk if they are moving. Just need to watch the driver’s head and eye directions. 

plank is kinda like teaching you slow speed control… and all those techniques are very useful for slow lane splitting and yes bikes can go on right lanes too. For overtaking only of course…

usually bike don’t stay there because there is no where else to “escape” to if you’re all the way to the right side. 
favorite cruise spot is middle lane or lane 2 closer to the left side of the lane.

You're a safe rider! i usually have bikers lane spilt on the PIE but a lot of them from JB lah. 

i will also siam the drivers who come very fast from behind... I'm already going 90-100 and they wanna go  faster... better let them go.
