I agree that have to wear stretch jeans... Yup... I think I will wear jacket only on the fact that taking a tumble won't have abrasions except that the jacket would be worn out. I'll go with T-shirt though... need to get my helmet... My weekend trip overseas may be cancelled. :( and if is.. I will do my photo on this Saturday.. and then focus on doing more lessons if possible....

Ah wait ah… you’ll be wearing arm and knee guards. Those for roller blading type. If u don’t mind sharing then no need to buy… else like me I prefer to just have my own set and just bring it every time I go for class.

just get a pair of arm sock, guards and wear jeans. You’re set for 2B. Arm socks is cooling and looks cool too. Hehehe

Hahaha funny 😂

just realise that I cannot book my lesson one until I get my eyes checked! And the system's date is now end July. 😂 I keep resetting also no use... can't book. After that then I have so squat at the booking site to get a time slot I want. My hb thinks it's too difficult to do together liao 😂 he'll probably take two years just to get the slots he wants

Now, we have time to shop for helmet, guards and gloves...

odd... why didn't they take your eyesight test when you register...

For gloves, get one that fits. Its important because you need to control your throttle and clutch well. And being able to feel it is important. If you are getting a leather pair, it can be a little tight because it will stretch.

For a start... personally I would recommend you to get packages to kick start the learning. Nothing too fancy, just to get a feel and know what you want eventually. You'll want a helmet to fit your bike color eventually and gloves that is nice and cozy. So i would recommend this as a start. I think the sapphire evo package looks decent.

https://helmetboys.com/collections/student-learner-packages

After that...

There are some shops which are more popular among the bikers in sg.

Here's a few headsup and clue what its like in each shop IMO.

Motoworld - Free and easy nice place to shop around and is big enough. Alot of non PSB approved helmet. So look before you buy.

LimAhBoy/Regina - Hard to find parking, don't expect any service. You need to know what you want, get it and move along.

Chong Aik - Quite cozy, but pricy. Service ok depending on who's there. Parking by the road side. need to wait a bit.

Racing World - Atas price... for branded items... Kinda like walking into the LV of motorcycle gears imo... great service. But overpriced. Easy to find parking.

Motoburner - Lesser known shop but the owner does carry some pretty good stuff.

The system's date will always show like the end of next month but they release slots weekly de.. try check around 8-10am or 5-9pm.. last time it was during those timing.. best is faster go down n get the eyes checked etc ba.. at least open up the slots liao then can book..

Thank you for all the tips! Much needed!!

that's exactly what I told my hb!!! Then the should only allow you to confirm enrollment after the eye sight test or only have orientation slots during eye sight test hours!! He asked my why we didn't book one during those hours 😂 I said cos there weren't any available! Everything I saw available (after stalking the site) is outside of eyesight test hours. If can get the eyesight test slots, don't even need to make Appt for the test! It comes w the class. 😑

okie... shall check during that timing and see if there's a pattern.

right now going for the eyesight test is not "up to me"... have to wait for the Appt date and time we got.

Gloves = 3rd party shopping website

For me, my palm is huge.. so no mesh/leather glove available for me online.. 😒

I don't wan to rent.. I wonder if it smells badly also... 😂

Once you wear the durian glove.. that's something you preferred comparing to any other mesh or leather glove.. cuz it's alot easier to move your fingers.. I got my grey Uncuttable (durian) gloves online.. I cannot tahan see the white.. abit ugly to my preferences.. haha..

Haha true… but I strongly advise you and your hb to get a riding glove that has a the following. It will give you more confidence in case you fall.

1 palm protection. The lower part of the palm will go through the worst burn if you really fall. So a hard core protection there is good.
2. Strong securing Mechanism. Not all Velcros last forever… so get one that’s good or get those with BOA system. I personally love those type to death. It’s a rotating knob that lets u tighten it.
3. contour. Believe me when I say not all gloves are designed the same. A good pair fits your hands like a pair of glove🤣🤣🤣. While the durian one will fit. It’s has 2 major flaws. First no securing mechanism and second no real protection.

im using Knox orsa if you need a reference for what I think is optimal. It’s about 100+ but it last forever…. And I ride daily. Even when it rains and gets wet it’s fine… just soggy when u remove it. But it dries up well. Weird how leather can be wet but not for some atas leather bags😂😂😂

nice.. this glove is from Europe?

I just measurement my palm.. and I can fit! But need to try to know how comfortable it is.. Singapore retail store all the glove sooooo small.. XXL I also just nice with restrictive movement.

I think for learner get like fox gloves can liao.. shld look at more comfort than protection as a learner.. too atas gear will become a burden when u haven grasp how to ride properly..

while I agree with you but I also have my “hind sight”.

my initial thought when I started learning I had the same thought until I bought this glove when I rode my phantom… I wish I had it because it gave me so much more confidence when riding.
On a few occasion those Velcro glove came loose when I was doing my salom 😱😱😱😱 and it’s like siao liao!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 because salom has a lot of movement there on the throttle and really you won’t feel the glove much if it’s fitting your hand well securely.

just sharing my experiences because somethings I wish I knew before haha… but it’s individuals decision and preference. I’m just sharing my own thoughts 😄😄

Yeah! U can find some on Carousell. Don’t know how they bring in. I got mine from Motoburner a year back. He was clearing stock and my old pair the cable broke after 8 years?
