personally find maxima oil hotter as compared to other eo. it used to be good.
is it? the 10W40 thin out fast. but used 15W50 b4. too thick so i dunno if the fz1 is ok with that kinda thick oil.

So which engine oil and grade do u use for yr fz1s?

I heard the engine of fz1 is v hot. Is there any way to reduce the heat like using what coolant is better etc...

sae 40 or 50, both can. no issue on which oil to use. its more of personal preference. as said, to reduce heat is to ride faster. wat kinda oil or coolant oso wun help.

fz1 is a hot engine bike. the moment you are not on the move, chances are the fan turning on is almost certain unless its wet weather.
riding in wet weather is nice.... :D

Would like to seek some advice from experienced bros here.

Whenever i go past humps, i always hear a "tok" sound somewhere near the pivoting point of my handlebars. Is this normal? The bike is new and has less than 2000km on it.

wheel bearings, cone bearings? or just another irritating loose brake pad or brake caliper?

How often do u change yr motorex engine oil?

Is the oil drain interval for fz1 less than 5k km? I've not owned a class 2 bike before, always thought the interval is 5k km.

oil change interval depends on the roughness u can take. initially when u use, its smooth n nice but after some time, it start to become rough so frm there, it depends on when u wanna change liao. not necessary 5000km then change for fully syn, 3000km for semi syn.

I think better dun middle finger. It gives a cause for legal action. Stupid, expensive, troublesome but it is not impossible.

Not to mention if touch wood just after tat got accident between u an e car then this middle finger become a evidence for weird story to be spinned.

If u really ve to show something, maybe a thumb down?

little finger oso can. :)

yes, correct. before i used 40 visco of 300v n it's hot. so i thot it's becos of the lower visco that it heats up faster so after that i chged to 50 visco but it's still the same, so my personal conclusion, visco doesn't affect the temp much but i can fill the drag a bit or its just a phsyco la...

dunno ley, its bro nudgenoink experiencing that n it seems to be at his place...

hha not my place. kallang mac the carpark. if u all know the place there is small area at the carpark entrance that can unofficially park bike one. not really lots.. but of course if u want to park there also must make sure the person parking further inside can come out ma. and the attitude they give me makes me feel like they block on purpose. 2 times somemore.

not sure about that but nowadays what i see is they are the ones bullying n terrorising the other road users even pedestrians. they swerve in n out like nobody business until most of the affected road users hv to e-brake. even me when i'm on my usual lalalalala riding mode chillaxing n enjoying the ride then came one blardy kup kia any how cut from the left or right very near.....where is the 1.5m rule? dammit.....i think they like to pick on bigger vehicles so that when anything happen they will say kena bully.....but when they win their nose up more than the visor....

totally agree. kups are really dangerous esp on highway when they lanesplit without checking first if there is another bike already there. esp during traffic jams

i tell u what u can do, nowadays car parks are well known for parts thieves. lingering around the car park can be suspicious so if u inform ur friendly neighbourhood police post about ur encounter, just tell them they r suspicious n u dun feel safe when they r around, our friendly police mates will have to patrol the area because it's a formal report lodge. call 999 and it will be a formal record. so if any case anything happens or stolen items reported in ur car park, there will be a trace......but of cos, chg ur parking spot to be safe as well n make sure it's in an open space...if u r alone, u still can fight if any thing happens but with ur girl is a bit dangerous, unless she know karate as well la....

haha yea i just park at the other spot now. the reason why i nv park at the proper spot is because there were ants the last few times i parked there. and the lot abit narrow for bikes with panniers. now bo bian alr.

i feel yamaha engines especially fazers are not suitable for thinner engine oil viscosity e.g 40.. they seems to function better in 50 or even 60 (if you doesn't bother abt the weight)..

anyway, i myself using motorex 10w60, still loving it.. :thumb:

i also enhanced the air flow to max for my fz1 & cr10ek plugs + i don't use the original stock lousy coolant.. maybe becus of these, i don't have much of a heat problem.. :)

Hmm..Don't know whether it is cheaper to bring in coolant and DIY change ownself

Now no more fairing should be fairly simpler...

Hello guys, anyone selling off their SW Motech or Hepco & Becker side racks for FZ1s Gen 2? Call me at 92387461 or Pm also can ;)

H&B side racks is it can only use for H&B boxes while sw motech side racks can be used for all boxes as long u hv the adaptor plates?

What are the side cases available? I only know there's Givi V35, Kappa K33 and H&B Junior 30 or 40.

Sometimes with a topcase, I don't have enough space to store everything. Fazer looks nice with panniers, but I guess it'll be harder to lane split and maybe parking also right? What abt going past at the side of barrier for carparks with free parking for bikes, any probs?

lanesplit highway still ok. normal road sometimes cannot cos the lanes are narrower. 99% of barriers no problem to squeeze. dont worry. the most irritating thing about panniers is parking.. sometimes the lots very small then cannot park between two bikes.

The xplorer series is nice...:thumb:

For local riding, think topcase is more practical right, like what nudgedoink said abt parking. Wonder if fz1 looks nice with just topcase...mmm...

dun worry about looks. FZ1 looks nice in the following ways in my opinion not in any order of merit;

1) without top case and side panniers

2) with top case without side panniers

3) with top case with side panniers

4) without top case with side panniers

Summarize, it looks great in all ways.
