Old pictures reminder of the retro group Kutu from the island of Syonan-To (Singapore). At one point of time, there were lots of Elsie riders in Singapore but a small community still remianed existing on this island..

Thank you Brothers from the Kutu Group for the nostalgic passion for the RD350 which is still well-loved and respected till today.

Sincerely yours,

SAN853@The Teacher

Among the Elsies which still remain road-worthy in sunny island of Singapore.

Second ride belongs to Siva, while the 3rd belongs to Wan. The 31K belongs to Siva too.

Oh my...I'm embarrassed to flaunt my ride but most of you might have seen it from RD Heaven. That's my ride, but the plate's fake. Don't wanna create unnecessary attention....Hehehe...

For your information, the Elsie was made known thru the film Azura of 1984, acted by Jamal Abdillah & Ogy, from Malaysia

Have been reading the post in this thread. Very interesting. The pics in this thread bring back memories when i was small.

As you can see I used to live at Bt Batok at the 1st story. So in front of the house got small 'porch'. Thats where my Uncles and his friend would park their RDs to do servicing lah or gather for kopi then off to play sepak takraw on the court just nearby.

Have few pics of me when i was small posing with them. I'll look thru the album and post here just to share.

Would love to get my hands on a RD350 and do up slowly but surely. Anyone got lobang =)

Combining Yamaha's bulletproof reliability and the exciting sound, smell and performance of a two-stroke engine, the RX-135 is truly a legend in its own right.

Thanks guys and gals.... oh, if anyone rides the Elsie or have a club, i'd like to ride with you.

The RD350LC is not as common as it once was Rod. Sad but true. Even this thread gets very few hits as most LC owners have moved on to newer machines over the past 30 years or so. Have you had your's long? To date, I have not heard of any one owner LC around. Are you one?

I have been looking for a tong for some time already, but they are either in pretty bad shape or way over price - sometimes both these facts apply at the same time.

I have not seen a scrap tong yet, it's that rare now. Some rider on this forum do have some second hand parts so hopefully they read your post and offer to you. Even used parts are hard to find now.

For new parts, you can try the local Yamaha dealer as I am sure if they can order from Japan for you, they will. Piston you can find locally but caliper??? This is a tough request. Anything is possible so do keep looking about. Have you asked at the local bike shops for parts yet? You could get lucky.

I am in contact with someone who recently built a tong on his own. He has lots of idea and contacts. PM me and I will link you together with him to see if he can help you with your project. I myself still looking for mine.

Good luck.

if worst comes to worst, you can get away with a single disc on the LC, and you can get parts at good prices at automachinery on Rowell Road. Get the parts before others buy them cheap then put them on ebay for 3 x as much.

Let me know if you need help, I am building 2 at the moment

Asking prices can range from $1500 to the $7000 asking price for the tong at Belwin now, so it all depends. Many Malaysian tong owners are visiting our local Yamaha parts dealers and scrap yards every week to buy up tong parts, so much so that parts are not that easy to find as you think.

If you want a tong, better to look for one now and do it up before too late. Others in this thread are doing tongs too and I'm sure they will help you out so all you need to do is ask.

Good luck.
