MV Agusta unveils first new models in 10 years

The Associated Press

NEW YORK -- The Italian sport bike company bought by Harley-Davidson Inc. last year is unveiling its first new models in 10 years, saying that its purchase by Harley is starting to pay off.

MV Agusta Group unveiled two new versions of its Brutale sport bike on Thursday. The company's U.S. director says the 2010 models, which cost $15,000 and $18,000, are the first in a line of new products on the way from the company. He also says the company is also looking to add more U.S. dealers to the 40 it already has in the U.S.

Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson bought MV Agusta last July for $109 million, seeking to boost its presence in Europe and enter the growing performance bike market.

Most experts aren't...and research is the difference between speculation and investment.

I think it's worth it to get the 883R now. Because it is not the most current model, I guess the price tend to be lower? And it's got 2 disc brakes in front. Next time you can convert it into an Iron (black out everything).

BTW you made your booking already? Black or orange

hmm still pondering thru...

any way will be out of town whole of oct...

so gt time 2 consider....lol

dun wan 2 straight away jump in ...

must plan lol

actually tinking of 883 or 1200...

butt 883 selection of models seem better & nicer esp the R version...

Anybody installed a power socket/cigarette lighter on their bikes to power a GPS? Which is a reliable brand/model?

there nt reari ani brands to it etc....

most impt must be gt ppl used it & tested ...

if u wan i gt a cheap & gd lobang...

& i currently using it for a while...

weather proof....

even wash bike oso no issue...

do pm mi for more details...

Juz wondering...

if a 2nd hand bike is relativley new (ie below2 yrs)

will they still have the same HD warranty (2yrs unlimited mileage & servicing warranty) if a new owner (like mi pending 2 buy brand new or 2nd hand) get the bike...

Ani ideas abt tat mates..?

Cheers!!!

Cause there are nice machince out there & are relativley cheaper than brand new, I'm toying with the idea about a 2nd hand instead of a brand new one

The warranty is valid for 2 years. So if your 2nd hand bike is less than 2 years old, then of course you are still entitled to the warranty. The warranty is tag to the bike. But if its more than 2 years old, even with low mileage, you will not get the warranty.

Go for the 1200cc if you can afford it of course! I couldn't afford it and the Iron comes in 883cc (luckily). So I settled for the 883cc

883 comfy speed is around 120 to 150kmh, anything above 150kmh should be a struggle.

when you ride a h-d, who cares about top speed, most of us would have done high speed touring when we were younger but have since decided to take things slow,

we just happily cruising around and watch the world go or pass by us...well at least for the majority of us.

i am lucky, i have 2 other bikes to entertain me if i need to ride fast..:D

I usually ride till 100 kmh only... once in a while hit 120 kmh... anything higher than that, I find the bike hard to control. But like you say, enough of speed already... ride too fast, no one can admire the bike... :cheeky:

I enjoy riding it slow...

cant agree more:thumb:

i dont even bother to know what the top speed my sporty can do, in fact if too fast i cant even hear the nice rumbling sound from the exhaust, i think 100 - 120 kmh is a nice riding cruising speed.

Need louder pipes! Probably picked up some dirt from the rain. Or your belt is too loose or tight. For the FXD on jiffy stand, the deflection should be 5/16 - 3/8 (from the service manual).

not tight nor loose, certainly should not occur just because it rains.

loud pipes is an option, but the risk of being pulled over is so much higher.
