Bike: vtec 1 FT plate

Problem: been having spats of "batt goes flat" for no apparent reasons even after push starts it cant idle and will still go off... after few push starts then was able to function normally...

why?

1)batt cant hold charge?

2)rectifier not charging?

3)magnectic coil prob? (praying not)

any other possibilites?

thx ppl!!!

either batt or rect gone. check them out with multimeter.

in sg, sound fast look fast is enough. run fast fine fast die fast.

i just bought my spec1 bike 1 month ago.. recently i encountered this prob often. when i switch on my bike for 1 min plus(without starting my engine), my batt goes flat. next min i had to push start. is it common as the headlight is on once we starts the bike? or is it my batt fault?

i think maybe u need to check ur rectifier ....cos if rectifier faulty it will damage ur battery and u need to change both(batt n rectifier)...everytime when u change new rectifier u need to put a date so that u know when to change the retifier and don let till the rectifier faulty....a rectifier will last u 1 year plus to 2 years then u need to change oready...correct mi if im wrong...nice ride bro

Change ur batt and rectifier...:thumb: Play safe...:cheeky:

Some biker once said " If u haven't been to Gerik, U haven't been touring in Malaysia".

yea!! let the mechanic check if it's battery or rectifer faulty..

I heard is every push start damages your magnetic coil or rectifer. so it's better to change battery and rectifer which cos less than 150 i guess then to change magnetic coil plus battery plus rectifer..

400++ ?

Oooooooooo..

there should be some telltale signs of batt weak, but im kind of needing enlightenment...

according to many forumers here, if the meter goes for second round for specII & III then it means the batt is weak and will kick the bucket in a matter of weeks right?

but what for spec I? in the past my meters used to go one round when i turn on the ignition, but now it doesn't. is this the sign that the battery is going to report soon?

spec 1 meter goes one round??

i dun think spec 1 got any function like this..

tell-tale signs like bike very hard to crank in the morning, suddenly die of while idling, headlight dimming while idling and brightens up significately when revved are indicating problems with rectifier, batt and alternator..

correct me if i'm wrong..

My 2.5yrs spec3 couldn't start. It was running well and fine for the pass few days and suddenly, yesterday, she just refuse to start. It can crank but cannot fire and I pulled the choke and cranked further till the battery died.

Granted that I don't always ride but the sudden refusal to fire boggled me. Some of my biker friends suspected the volt regulator as these are one of the problems of the super4. Others felt it may be the spark plugs or the HT coil.

But then again, my friends are no expert and those riding a similar bike has not came across such problem as yet.

Any expert or anyone with the same experince out there can help. Thank you guys in advance.

Is it when you crank-start, you only hears a 'tac-tac' sound?

(most likely carbon starter gone.)

If your battery had not been changed before for the time you rode, think your battery might be weak.(ask your bike shop to check your rectifier for you.)

p.s:Me no expert, just wish to help...

Life's a gift... That's why they called it the present.

I will be going oversea for 20 days and i am planning to take out the battery from my bike . I will probably ask my father to charge the battery for 1 hr for every 2-3 days . ( I have a DC charger to charge this battery ) .

I was thinking if there is any impact to the bike electronic part since the battery will be taken out from the bike for 20 days .

Need advise . Thank .
