I got your model's part number from http://fiche.ronayers.com/Index.cfm/Module/Main/TypeID/26/Type/Motorcycle/MakeID/4/Make/Yamaha/YearID/47/Year/2006/ModelID/1529/Model/FJR13AV_FJR13ABS/GroupID/338286/Group/ELECTRICAL_2_

PN: 5EA-82100-11-00

OEM P/N: GT14B-4 GS BATTERY

I've checked my 03 model from fiche.ronayers as well, exactly the same yamaha part number.

My colleague is using YT14B-BS. Seems like a compatible cheaper alternative.

Yes the original battery is GT14B-4 GS, but I normally just buy at Auto Machinery and install it to bike and then continue riding.

Does it need to be charge first, according to shop it is not necessary, already charge, they say. :sian:

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

Hi guys,

Need technical help regarding FJR of course...

Scenario:

I went to KL from S'pore and back again last Saturday with my wife. Both touring up and back is done in the daytime, from 10am to 1pm... While going to KL, it was raining at certain parts of NSH and was zero luggage(just a tank bag only with little items). But when coming back to S'pore, the weather was a constantly clear with a temperature of 35'C according to the bike's thermometer. Luggage was full on both side panniers and the tail pack. Travelling speed was an average of 170km/h. Stopped once only at Pagoh to refill.

Question:

When I reached Gelang Patah, i noticed on the left side of my rear tyre and wheel has stains of oil. Along with the rear mudguard. Oil was rather odourless but i can't see what's the color though. I suspected it's the shaft oil. Is it possible the shaft oil leaked because i travelled a high speeds, non-stop(for at least 150km) and in a hot weather(ambient temp' was 35'C)?

Need your advise on what's next to do after this phenomenon and what could have gone wrong... I hope there's no big damage done to the bike.

First, check the shaft oil level, top up as necessary.

Then monitor the weep hole under the shaft drive assy. If there's a leak, it will continue after every ride. Park ur bike with the side stand.

I went home to charge the batt i bought at Auto Machinery. Its fully charged according to your batt charger. So i just charged for a little while more before i install it.

Hello Feejerians

I just got hold of my much-awaited FJR1300! Its a 2008 model with 14k on it. (Read: Grinning)

I just have smtg to ask. Been reading FJR forums and there seems to be a slight worry when it comes to touring along highways etc with a Top Box on. From what i've read, it's with regards to the wind vortex created when a Top Box is present. Just wanna find out you guys' opinions.

Cheers!

i used to ride the '04 FJR. Went for quite a few trips. My set up was Ermax extended windshield, H&B Junior 45 top box, standard panniers & wife. Tested 250km/hr for many times, not a prob at all. ultimately, up to individual.

u used to have the white blinking lights pasted backwards on the top of your panniers last time so the guys behind can see you, what brand/model was it?

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

I don't think the alarm is able to drain the batt so drastically so quickly. How old is your batt ? You might want to think about changing it.
