I asked him before. He said he don't have supply of scooter parts and too many bikes to do already.

103th Time at Planet!

07/08/13

04:55pm

Weather: Fair

mood: Sian... :sian:

Went to Planet to change my starter replay.

Got burnt out when I forgotten to turn on the fuel cock and tried starting several times. :slapforehead:

Actually I went there the day before after I knocked off, but Ah Chong made a mistake and ordered the wrong relay! :slapforehead: and it was too late to order another one, so I came back on the 7th.

When I got there, Ah Chong showed my the Relay by placing it on his heart. The Joker....

Then realising that I have not changed engine oil for some time, I asked to change engine oil.

Then comes the waiting... and waiting... and waiting.... in the end, after reading a chapter of a book I brought along, I opened the bike and changed the relay myself.

Then waited some more before Ah Chong came to change the engine oil for me personally.

Then he joked that when my bike comes, the mechs all act busy, because they scared to service my bike!!!!

While changing engine oil, another scrambler FL plate also come along. Ah Chong said we can shake hand already both like old bikes.

Left the place quite late, 7:05pm, a 2 hour wait for change of engine oil. Sigh! just one of the sway days.

Motorcyclist are the nicest people on the road, try not to kill us.

Nowdays, he kept saying "tangan tak cukop".. Means he is short handed. Looks like he is getting very good business. But the downside is sometimes they may rush to fix things and overlooked certain things. For instance my case.

1st day. Went to change thermostat as coolant was leaking. Went back hme and discovered dat it was wayyy worst den b4.

2nd day. Applied urgent leave to go down again. Make noise to him about the situation. As he was the one who changed the thermostat, he checked my bike again and admit that he didnt retighten one of the hose he disconnect the day before. Was in total shock. Wasted 1 day of leave just because of his "over look".

I am very comfortable with him handling my bike, but that incident turns me off. Should i find another shop which i can really trust and not worry about these small but critical error?

Scary balls.

I remembered one incident several years back.

After servicing the bike at Planet, I rode off and after a short distance, the bike started to sputter.

Rode back and discovered the fuel line wasn't connected. ;)

Other than this oversight, don't have any major issues with Planet.

One reason why I favoured Planet over other shops is the absence of the 'chopper' and the 'flexible' prices we often find at other shops.

I remembered changing a bulb at a shop near my house for $5. Next day the other blew and the guy charged me $8.

When I told it was '$5 yesterday', the reply is a sheepish "ya, is $5".

$8? Up yours!

All,

Would appreciate your input and advise on the cost to repair piston jam for x1 at planet motors? Just got this bike over a month and unfortunate it got piston jammed. Worry for the high cost though...I suspect could be low or no EO topup from previous owner when he mentioned all got serviced..anyone know the cost?
