Can ask you guys something, went to change spark plug and engine oil last week. I realise after I start engine, the idling speed is below 1k, but before this was above 1k, is it normal good or bad?

Try adjust ur idling knob,perhaps.

You need both dude. 4T engine oil is to go into the engine area (no idea where is that called) while the 2T is to put into the 2T tank which is under the rider's seat.

btw, u can try tightening the 2t screw/flow intake to ur tank to minimise the smoke..

but usuallly, after servicing..u will c a lotta smoke for a few days..

maybe try clearing it out la..

i think this is normal for the 2 strokers

the main purpose of engine oil is lubrication.

 

for a 2-stroker, the 2T is mixed and burnt with the petrol, lubing as it goes.

 

another oil is used to lube the gearbox.

most likely, the mech meant using the 4T instead of gear oil in your gearbox

this oil isn't burnt, it just 'dirties' with mileage and will need to be changed after

some time and usage.

 

 

if in doubt, always consult your manual..

As per what sikonesis replied earlier..

 

2 strokers need both 4T and 2T..

4T is ur engine oil..

2T is a lub either filled up into the 2T reservoir or by premixing it into ur fuel tank (15ml - 20ml per litre of fuel if i remember correctly)

 

fyi, white smoke is common for 2 strokers..

u should actually worry if u see no smoke..

white smoke for 4 strokers then is a concern..

 

to minimize the smoke, adjust your 2T pump..

else try premix..

it can also be due to the 2T u use..

also warm up ur bike before moving off..

it does get kinda smoky for 2 strokers during cold starts and after days of disuse..

last but not least; go clear carbon.. hehehe..

8th time there today 22/12/2007 Morning 8:50am weather: Surpise! Today no rain!

 

Went Planet to replace the steering cone and rubber seal for the front forks.

 

Arrived there at 08:50am, was the first customer there.

Shop still haven't open.

Started pushing my bike up the slope, and took off my helmet, within 1 minute, got an airforce mech park his black scambler across the road, assume he is a regular customer there too.

 

Waited until 09:05am before seeing an old green car come up to the shop.

Guess who came out of the green car!!!

 

Hahaha, first time see Ah Chong dress up so neatly in shirt and pants, carrying brief case some more.

Before he open mouth, I already want to laugh.

 

The guys started opening up the shop, pushing out some of the bikes stored in the shop. Guys really got the muscle, rotating the bikes on their side stands and all.

 

Left the bike and keys at the shop to go watch movie.

Probably the only shop I dare trust to leave my bike unattended.

 

My bro came to pick me up at around 09:15am

Before leaving, Ah Chong asked where are all the girls? Don't have can intro girls to us!

Wah this Ah Chong this type of Lo Bang also have ah???

Came back at around 3:30pm to collect my bike. That time started to rain. As soon as I entered the shop this Ah Chong asked me if I am God. Reason- I appear like ninja immediately after he finished pushing the bike out of the shop.

That time raining so Ah chong asked if want to wait until rain stop then go.

I told him don't want, got to wait for 1-2 hour for rain to stop, then Ah Chong tell me just wait until 6pm ok liao, rain will stop at 6pm...

 

NB lah. Just now ask if I am God, now tell me rain what time will stop, Ma Chiam he is God like that! Any way started wearing my raincoat and rubber rain shoes and left Planet, Steering really feels lighter with the new steering cone, a bit not used to it. Forks still too wet, when tomorrow ran stop then can see if the fork still leaking oil.
