haha... added advantage.

it was also smart riding from casey...

let the doctor outbrake himself...

also a good bike i useless without a good rider. any other rider might have crumbled under Rossi's pressure. casey went a step ahead - make the doctor do mistakes instead and remain calm himself instead.

the speed difference is too much even comparing to last time honda was winning races. If u know u can afford ppl over taking u in the corners but u pull them away on the straights. u will also be clam.

Dun think Stoner is a one hit wonder...

Given his capability and a competitive bike, he has shown that he has what it takes to win.

In the initial first few laps, Rossi was faster in the turns but Stoner overtook in the straights.

He knows that Rossi will have to brake hard and brake late and he used it to his advantage. If you noticed in the later mid-stage and towards the end, Rossi never had a chance to overtake and when he did, he went in too hot....

Kudos to Stoner. Plus Ducati Power....

isn't that what everyone knows? Anyway when rossi pull the move on stoner its already last 6 laps. With 2 over secs down he still manage to catch up to second place is already extraordinary.

The fact that he wasn't able to outbrake and overtake Stoner towards the later stage of the race shows that Stoner is pushing himself in the corners and inadvertently, Rossi to the edge.

Unfortunately, Rossi was the one that made the mistake first and kudos to Rossi for able to rectify by clinching 2nd position. I agree that is extraordinary by itself but what is more extraordinary is that Stoner, at 21 years old, has already won 3 races so far, was able to fend off Rossi's advances as the race progressed and causing Rossi to make a wild if not desparate overtaking attempt.

Anyway, point I wanna make is that Stoner isn't a slow riding idiot winning solely on the merits of the Ducati 800cc Monster just by opening the throttle on the straight.

We have seen Rossi catching up over faster machines, overtaking them and keeping the lead for good.

This year, he has found more than a match in Stoner who just keeps getting better and better.

Capirossi who had taken wins last year beating Rossi hasn't been able to re-produce that form on a similiar machine as Stoner's. This should speak merit of Stoner's determination and excellent skill/form this year. Though I'm a Capirossi fan, Stoner has found a new fan in me cause he pushes equally as hard if not more so than Capirossi, The Lion-Hearted.

Anyway, by far, a very interesting season in a long time.

All the better for us viewers at home.

Sorry for the propanganda talk.

Go Ducati Go!!!!!!

If it's all about the bike, then the finishing order today would be

1) Stoner

2) Capirossi

3) Barros

4) Hoffman

So long as the Ducati is not too shabby in the corners, it was always going to be a tough fight at a circuit with 2 long straights.

Once the Championship hits the European tour, things should be pretty even out again.

Whatever it is, bring on more close and exciting racing and the fans will be the biggest winners!! :cheer:

go back to the times when 1000cc was just introduced....

garry mccoy won the first 3 races on the 500cc red bull yamaha and started sliding like mad....

but recall how the doctor responded.......

rememeber the times when rossi moved to yamaha and tamada was on form with honda.....escpecially the race at mugello, where 5 hondas took rossi out on the straight.....but each lap rossi finished first....

i think i say this jus becoz i am a rossi fan.....but i like stoners wife....

but the lap rossi did the mistake, i think it was tyres that gave way and not rossi's line...too hard breaking

Don't just break your laptimes, SHATTER them!!

"I enjoyed today a lot, it was a great race, a really exciting battle and my Yamaha was fantastic to the end. We knew that this track would be difficult for us so to be able to fight with Stoner at 100% for the entire race was a great feeling. Of course it's not a win, but I think second place is a very good result for us here. I didn't want to give up and just ride for second, I wanted to try to pass him and I made some good overtaking manoeuvres but wasn't able to stay in front down the straight. Then I made a mistake when I hit a bump when braking, had to release the brake and ran off track. It was a pity, but when you're riding on the limit lap after lap then things like this can happen; that's racing! Anyway I knew I couldn't give up, I had a nice battle with John and then was able to take second. I think these twenty points are really important and we're still second in the championship. I'm really more sad for what happened in Turkey because if we hadn't had the problem there then I might have been level with Stoner in the championship now. But the season is long and now we have several races in Europe at some of my favourite tracks and I think we're in good shape for them!"

Depends also, cos Rossi's been on Michelins ever since he started his 500cc career... think almost 7 years on the same tyres, if he suddenly switched, still have to take time to adapt I think.

Ducati offered Rossi a ride but the Doctor went to Yamaha instead.

Underpowered was the reason he did not join Ducati I think... :giddy:

Anyway, a rider's success is a combination of skills, bike setup/development/feedback and tyres and a fair bit of luck.

Ducati had it's fair amount of trouble with Bridgestones over the past few years but got better and better till today.

Looks like it'll be interesting now that the series head for Europe.

Underpower?..so now the Doctor will have to eats his own words lah..

Yesterday race was real desperate for Rossi who was just trying to pass Stoner, he try all impossible and silly moves that got himself into 3rd position for a while before returning to second.

Come on all, from the heli-cam view you can see Rossi got no chance.

Stoner didn't even need to slip-stream him on the straights to make a pass. Stoner just overtook Rossi and used the wider cornering position to set himself up nicely for the turn after the straight.

This year seems impossible for the Doctor to be Champion leh! :D

Then they'll be back in Sepang and it will all happen again..

Thumbs up for Casey Stoner, excellent ride. Certain other riders *ahem*sete*ahem* would have cracked under the pressure, faster bike or not.

John Hopkins did very well too, his first podium. His riding style is elbow down all the way. Nice to see Suzuki up there too, hope this doesn't mean even more GSXR6/7/1000s on the roads!

Stoner did a great job of not losing his concentration.... he was focused on winning and won.... we've all seen Rossi pressuring the rider infront many times til the rider makes a mistake for Rossi to over take and win the race.... but this time it did not happen.... it was Rossi who made the mistake by pressuring himself to overtake Stoner... times are changing.... although I'm a Rossi fan, I must admit that it will be very hard again for him to win the championship this year.... lets hope Europe will be just as nail-biting as the China race...:bouncefire:

i saw the duc's top speed...333kmh or something...wow...it's like riding a Hayabusa on the track...but a very very light busa

No wonder you always appear so calm in front of me.
