i've got all these 3 materials before..

but it's on different end cans.. my preference would be Carbon Fibre.. I had a fetish on CF parts..

Performance should be the same lah.. just that the price..

Stainless Steel would be cheapest followed by CF, then Titianum being the most expensive..

Sound wise, it's not about the sleeve.. it's how you packed the wool inside.. I've done some DIY on Micron.. Proven it's indeed bassier and louder..

in the end, it still lies on wat you really like and will you pay the extra for the more expensive sleeves..

Hey bro biting_point;

You got a nicely done up machine!!!

Really nice, really...

Looks sporty at 1 side and looks like tourer on the other hand...

Really like it...

I ever read in this forum before that someone actually email to LTA and enquire on all the legal models of aftermarket exhaust.

May i get the guy to post it and share with us the whole list...

If not anyone here got such experience of emailing LTA and enquire on the aftermarket exhaust???

legal brands for s4:

yoshi (no baffle) @ motorworld, HKL etc etc

micron (got baffle) @ mezzo, HKL

gpr (no baffle) @ excel, bikeworkz

leo vince (got baffle) @ gerry looi's

how to know it's legal?

>> if u buy first hand, the shop will tell you whether it's legal or illegal endcan. after buying it, bring ur bike to inspection centre and pay$52.50 for endcan inspection. then, u collect the cert, photocopy one copy and keep it inside ur bike (in case of road block). all street legal endcan have serial number. if u never send the endcan for inspection, the 'street legal' endcan will consider illegal.

>> if u buying second hand, just look at endcan and look for baffle. micron n leo vince got baffle in their endcan. yoshi n gpr got no baffle. if u know micron got baffle, but owner say baffle 'was stolen'. try not to buy.. inspection can still pass BUT if roadblock, u can be charge for tampering of endcan.

illegal brands for s4 >> vega sports, 2bros, ah boy, laser, arrow, illegal micron, illegal yoshi

noise level of illegal vs street legal >> of cos illegal is way noisier.

this is the much i can briefly tell u after kena stop at roadblock by TPs n ROVs. They were unsure abt my GPR CF endcan. they check for baffle or any tempering to the exhaust before asking me for inspection letter. after showing them, i was let off

LeoVince end can is shorter. Therefore, I believe that it gives better performance. But I've heard one on the road before and the sound is not as nice as my LAB end can... c",)

what i mean is bringing in exhaust from outside for the specific bike model and have it approved by LTA...

Is it possible...

if it is from rvf, 50/50 chances. u can ask the dealer. other than that, it's strictly illegal.

you can always try.. last time when this aftermarket thingy starts.. supposely all exhaust are brought here and test test..

if i'm not wrong, as long as at 3k RPM your sound not more than 96db can liao..

My bike using Yoshi has a serial number. I use it for registration under my name hence its consider legal. Plus all the inspection all done.

If u get the after market exhaust no serial number should be illegal.

Also, some illegal end-cans will have "not for road use" labelled on them. Try to look out for it before buying.

I remember i'd read someone sharing of using EO to protect the header from getting rusty. Today after washing my bike, apply some EO onto it. When I start my bike, smoke coming from the header. Took it for a short ride, & realize the EO from header had dried up. I think that it's useless becuz the EO will dried up due to the extensive heat from the header & the explosure of the open air. Is this true ? Therefore is there any way to prevent the header from rust ?

Actually I've some qns abt headers too. Am planning to get aftermarket headers to replace my stock headers, due to e material used n also for cosmetic purpose. Heard from many tat titanium headers will do a much better job when riding for longer periods or on tour, as it cools down much more faster.

Am wondering, is there any aftermarket headers which r designed e same way as our stock headers, so tat I will not hav to change my jets? Read tat many would recommend changing jets after installing new headers/full system due to e faster air flow. Thus basically I'm looking for headers which r designed e same way as our stock headers, but made of titanium material. Any brands has it? Does it mean I'll not hav to change my jets?

Another qns is regarding my current stock headers. It has some slight dents, apparantly due to those high humps. Sigh. Is there any workshops which can restore my headers back to round?

i will say the materials are pretty standard. instead, i will suggest you do some research on the performance and their finishing...

sound wise always can 'tune'... :cheeky:

Erotomania: Any idea how much would it cost to chrome a S4's headers? Will it affect e headers in any way, regarding heat?

biting_point: Haha, e dream system. But aint u supposed to get aftermarket jets like Dyno or Kenso to handle e extra stress? Heard tat e original jets cant handle it, n e bike's performance will b affected in a bad way instead. Thus I'm looking for titanium headers, wif e same headers design. Hope it's avail in market, n I wont hav to change e jets or settings.

i've tuned my carb after i changed into full system.. mileage remain at 300km till reserve.. power wise, better than w/o tuning..

after a while, changed my jets to bigger ones.. FC dropped till 260km.. powerwise, of cuz better than previous jets.. but mine not Kenso or Dyno.. my mech told me, Kenso and Dyno jets will foul and clog too, so change normal ones will do, clog just change.. cheaper also..

but anyone to clarify on this.. my mech changed 4 main jets.. does Kenso and Dyno provide other jets: eg. the smaller one other than the main jets??

Need some answers here before going to shop and ask.. sometimes salesman cannot rely too much..
