newbie qn: taking the class 2B test

hi everyone! I want to take up a class 2B licence and have been going over the options at the various test centres in singapore. the one that impresses me is the singapore safety driving centre -- anyone have comments on that choice?

also, i was wondering if i need to take classes for the riding theory test or is it possible to self-study for it? are there any textbooks i can buy? if i self-study, i could take the test as a private candidate. i believe that is possible.

has anyone tried the online riding theory classes run by the SSDC?

PS i have a class 3 licence already.

thanks for your suggestions and comments!

regarding your newbie question, go back to the centre where u took ur class 3, even if it's private.. coz since u have gone through the circut once, its easier for u to take ur 2b oso..

and regarding the fastest way to get ur 2b, try give $50 to each n every instructor for every lesson u go and $100 to at least 9 TPs which will be conducting the test..

There is no shortcut! As a driver you should've known by now. :sian:

SSDC is quite good. I took both 2B and 2A there. The instructors are quite okay and most of them will explain to you anything you do not understand. The online lessons are fine, although I only had classroom lessons to go to when I took my courses.

Anyway I don't think this thread belongs to Rally Point. Mods, kindly move it to where it's appropriate.

SSDC makes their program into too manli parts if u wanna pass fast try cdc ... i thik ssdc will take a long time + u can onli book 1 lesson at a time and normally u haf to wait 1 or even 2 weeks to book ur lesson. so if u wanna learn slow and steady choose ssdc.

I took my 2B and 2A at BBDC. I personally find the road test route for bbdc the easiest when comparing the road test route with other test centers.

Left turn out of test center, left turn, left turn, left turn, left turn, right turn at right turn only junction, U turn on a three lane road, more left turns and finally left turn back to BBDC. How to go wrong with left turns??!! HAhaahahah

But the lessons there are many and there is also the question on the number of times you take each lesson.

I took at BBDC also. but bro, there are people who go on wrong test road route lor. Because they turn at the "wrong left turn" at the mini highway (70kmph) after the first slip road. They went straight ahead to... Princess elizabeth school there..

Oh yah, taking wrong test route is also a problem huh.

for those chiong-sters... maybe i ask what is your chiong-ing style? everyday book one lesson? asking more in context of bbdc. thanks!

hehe... i got before one day take one lesson, followed by one revision cause i thought i buay zai. Then after completing the first lesson, saw got another slot for the next lesson open after my revision. Took it. End up total 3 lesson in one day, all in the rain. Damn shack. Depends on individual la. Class 3 also got before Mon Wed Fri Sat and Sun everyday double lesson, one week clear half the package in ten lessons. I think should still have people more hardcore than me bah. ITs good training la... deal with the fatigue. On the road after a tiring day more confident u can handle it.

And eh.. ya.. was also from SSDC so the online theory lessons ah.. very good. Just press play and then go do your own things, and remember to keep pressing play for the next segments. But make sure u know your stuff la. :cheeky:

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.
