last weekend, my friend involve in an accident. the fishy thing is, how the front fork of his bike broke. his bike is CBR 1000RR. according to his story, he hit a small hole and then, about a few kilometres, suddenly his right handle broke, couldn't control his bike and the bike hit the road barrier. I've post about it in my blog with some pictures I'd taken, http://bikingandtravelling.blogspot.com/2007/06/accident-in-ulu-yam-sunday-3rd-june.html .

what do you guys think about it? is it Honda's fault or else? just hit a small hole and then from handle broke. how fragile it was..... the picture of the right handle is the 6th picture.

No clear picture of the steering head and that part of the frame. The lower triple tree clamp came off with the fork, and there was no sign of breakage or damage to the upper triple tree clamp. Just a guess, I would suspect the upper tree clamp was not tightened as it seem that the fork slided out before impact.

wow, luckily the rider is safe.

casting can coz porosity in frame which weaken it's structure.

unless every frame undergo x-ray inspection otherwise can't tell frame structure density after molding.

If it really is a genuine case where the bike broke to the extend after hitting a small hole then he should get in touch with Honda.Did you manage to get the pic of the hole? By the way is this bike bought first hand? Cos it if its a second hand bike, the previous owner could have had some accident, weld the parts and sold it off...Just my thoughts. Glad your fren are ok.

how can it break just like that?? Shouldnt the manufacturer have done some testing oredi before sale??

seems like over tightening on the fork tubes to me.. the fork tubes are very thin, just over-torqueing it might not seem to be a problem with the naked eye, but you will know when shits happen. just like in this case..

hey people only the handle bar that broke by itself.

the other part broke because handle break, then canot control then crash.

the right handle of the front end suddenly broke before entering a corner. Then, he tried to control the bike, but didn't make it since there's a car on opposite direction was in his lane (the car trying to overtake a car). Then, he let go the bike, and the bike hit the road's barrier at the opposite side of the road.
