    • Yeah, I let the engine running at idling speed for a few minutes.
    • No, what for? Waste of petrol.
    • Depends, usually will if have not started engine for a period of time.

cool bike ZzGaNgStErzZ :thumb:

I was told by a mech to warm up for abt 3-5 minutes.

he said... its required so that the EO can 'circulate' and lubricate all the internal engine parts.

but has anyone checked with Honda or Boon siew?...

i will always warm up my bike before move off. timing is probably around. 2mins?

i remove my bike cover and put it on the seat. i power up the bike and let it idle. i fold the bike cover and put it in the bag. Keep the cover in the box and wear my helmet. then move off

Yes, I do the same too.

Start bike, do a quick visual inspection around the bike.

Check for any leaks under bike and tire condition, not nails or screws embedded (found 2 in one tire once).

Check head lights working etc.

Once all ok, suit up and then ride off gently.

my 7 cents worth.

of cos. it how we warm up the bike thats all. some leave it running while smoking, while some fold their dust cover n wipe their bike, some will start, wait for 1 min, slowly move off the carpark at low speed.

all these methods can use...

Hi everyone,

Need some advice. My bike seems very reluctant to start when cold. Idle rate below 500rpm, tends to die off if I don't keep my hands on the throttle. I usually spend a few minutes letting the engine warm up before it hovers around 1K to 1.3K rpm.

However, after about half an hour of easy riding (not more than 80kph) the idle rate at neutral or when I clutch in jumps to 2.5K rpm and refuses to come down until I start moving again.

I could try adjusting the timing screw but it doesn't help. I end up having to increase when cold and decrease when warm. Definitely something not right somewhere. Been to a few bike shops but they're not sure why. Any opinions before I send it in again?

Thanks.
