lol.... aiya why must race here race there... just slow down... give "hand signal" the SUV to stop by the road side and have a "friendly chat".... its much safer and you can apply your "personal touch".

 

just now while riding,

 

was raining, saw an ah pek on his bike, with his side stand up. no problem coz he was going straight on the eway. but if he turns at high speed...

 

so i decided to go up to his side and waved left hand to him, pointing to his side stand and all, coz raining, cannot lift up visor to talk to him. but i think he misunderstood and tot i wanted to lace/ "come come go to the side talk!!".

 

he honked me and continued, so i also ba long long lor.. but from my mirror can see he was stopping along eway bike shelter area ald, hopefully he gets my point.

 

Now tell me, who are the actual cause of accidents with all these baskets on the road.

 

OF COURSE it's our fault! Make sense wat.

 

How come I always see other bikers like very skillful can go fast fast on the road and I am like a lousy travel point A to B kind of poser rider.

 

maybe they got better tires/ brakes?

 

anyw, we are definitely better than those who dun even dare ride.

Fast does not always equate to skill. While it takes good handling to ride fast, riding skillfully can be a beautiful thing to see at moderate speeds.

 

Riding within your means definitely does not make u a lousy rider. On the other hand, it makes u a skillful one within your means.

(as long as you are not slowing others down in a group tour )

Was riding in Chinatown when I saw some orange cones left and right ahead. While slowing down two policemen walked out onto the open lane and I swerved to avoid them, crashing through another makeshift cone barrier on the right lane. I sped off before anyone noticed my plate number and slalomed past more cones into the one open lane and a police roadblock.

 

Shortly later I felt there was something wrong with the back tyre and stopped the bike. To my horror the rear tyre was completely shredded. Luckily a helpful security guard offered to look after the crippled bike for the night and provided a secured parking space.

anyway, yesterday while riding home from GP town at 4am (after watching 1st half between england and USA), went up PIE loot all the way to hougang within 30mins from custom coz bladder was damn full. happily forgot that ENG NEO got speedcam. sianz.

 

just wanna clarify with the experienced riders here, does it mean that if at nite, no flash means no kenna summon correct?

 

and also, the speedcam reads ur speed before or after passing the speedcam? i.e. if i close throttle and apply brake alongside the camera, will i still kenna summon?

 

or issit that as long as when i am approaching the cam, my speed gets logged and once i pass the camera, i have to say cheese and take a pic (irregardless of whether i slow down)?

Relac lah bro. The flash bright until day time also u won't miss one.. No flash, no summon. It doesn't clock your speed silently without flashing, as far as i know.

bad luck today.. kenna 1 screw on my rear tyre.. but heng slow leak only.. tomorrow have to go patch liao. hopefully still have air by then.. =X

 

and on the way back from orchard earlier.. was riding thru THE CATHAY on the 2nd lane, counting from the right.

 

there is DOUBLE WHITE LINE just across the junction(rendezvous hotel/SMU) dividing lane 1 and 2..

 

there were 2 cars, 1 taxi, and 1 maroon RED altis..

 

taxi cut in to avoid the double white line, with enough leeway.. the maroon red altis TRIED to follow but i was just side-by-side with him! gave him a good horn, and look into the window..

 

best part, the driver gave me 'what the F' handsign.. throttle up, and wave back 'what the F you doing' handsign and carry on my way..

 

he cannot take it and start to chase. i just open throttle away and vroooom..

Isit the fix speed cam on the PIE b4 Eng Neo exit?

 

if yes then Pplater is right, fix cam sure got flash one.. Day or night will hv flash..

 

Anyway tat speed cam u passby at 95km/h also no problem one.

 

tested at tat speed driving car, van , bike. So dun worry if there is no flash u r safe.

Probably there for deterrence, although it's not recommended to try and see at what speed it triggers.

 

Even in the KPE some people are traveling way faster than the 70kph limit; everyone seems to have memorised the camera locations.

ning nong piang, lots of things happened, budden my hp now kinda semi retired liaoz, no video recording for the time being..

 

1 hogger on lane 1, balonglong-ing, seeing there was a taligator coming up fast, i signalled and got out of the "Pig talking on the phone.

 

thereafter, seperate incident, a lorry filtered out and went straight to right lane. i was behind it and filtered as well, but the lorry swerved back to left lane @ 20kph... As i pass by, blardee foreign talent professional driver.

seriously i believe wrong info is given out..

 

speed cam doesn't have flash.. there is no flash mechanism to trigger the flash, if there's any flash in the first place.. there is only 1 box along the center dividers with 1 opening, facing each direction.

 

dun get confused with red-light camera. they do have mechanism to trigger the flash and camera, should you cross over the final white line at the junctions..

However, no accidents or stationary jams in my area of the expressway cos everyone was majestically courteous to each other. Must be the holiday mood.

am lucky enough to hit the office before rain... on the way the traffic was good. I reach the usual T-junction, after the civic made the right turn I saw this corolla at the exit of an industrial building. Right in front of me was a yellow box, the traffic ahead of me were stationary, no incoming vehicle from the right, so I decide to let the corolla pass. Wait for a while still no sign, I try to wave no effect... after which thunderous horn pass down frm my rear. Then vehicle start to overtake me... so I just move off.

 

Ytd heading back home, saw this Lambo couple of blocks away frm my flat. The vehicle was situated somewhere at the opening of a small CP. Whereas I'm right behind him (*but I'm at the T-junction awaiting for my right turn) the uncle ahead of me clear the turn so I follow up. The crazy lambo attempt to reverse while I'm just right behind it, press my horn so hard to wake up that fellow. (*so many drama on the road day in day out)

 

At times we give way as an act of courtesy and to ease traffic

At times you choose to filter lane at the last minute, hoping you're given the right of way

At times you filter without signal, its hard to anticipate so just kindly show your intention early so we can have the slightest idea of what to do next

*not saying we don't uphold the spirit of giving way, just that your sudden act caught us by surprise or the need to make big adjustment for you.

How does the system work?

The vehicle is speeding. As it passes by an automatic radar, speeding is detected and a digital picture of the vehicle is taken. The picture is crypted then sent to a national treatment center via internet networks (adsl connection). At the center the picture is uncrypted and the registration of the car is taken, as well as all the relevant data (time, speed, etc). The registration is compared to the database of stolen cars and rented cars. Police officers supervise this stage. The fine is then mailed to the owner of the car. A contestation is possible if the owner was not the driver.

KPE speedcam confirm got flash.

 

that time i was riding at lane 1.5 when this suzuki swift zoomed past me at lane 1, i experienced the flash together with the speeding suzuki swift. two flashes to be exact.

maybe we should all ride in a staggered formation... and all go above the speed limit, say @ 110kmh...

 

if all tio flashed, can try to appeal say we all travelling at the same speed of 90kmh.. how come all tio summoned..
