today peak hour while riding back from town to pie , to my house exit

never felt so safe and wonderful the entire journey, no worries abt having cars tailgate or abrupt lane change , all the way lane one with ample space... front and back

 

because i wan to thank the 5 tp who surround me ..

Today's sharing. Got 2 video. 1 from bike, 1 from car.

 

 

From Bike. 3 accidents and some sight, cars that cross line.

 

 

From car. 1st is a rider that takes his time, nothing wrong with that, but subsequently runs a red light. 2nd is again a rider that comes out from pavement which I feel could have caused an accident. I could be the type of driver that steps hard on accelerator or a bike could come fast from my car's left which is common. Or I could just be a driver that uses the common excuse which is "I didn't see you" and it makes sense becoz the bike was coming from the pavement, when the light has become RED STOP WALKING MAN for the pedestrians.

Quite true. Try not to travel at the places these drivers like to 'play'. The weekends are usually the days they 'play'. So ride cautiously.

 

both incidents occurred along PIE towards changi. apparently, many drivers like to take the expressways as their race tracks. 1 good thing abt travelling on lane 1 during ghostly hrs is that majority of the drivers know how to give way and not road hog

 

@xueling. U gal right? So e driver chut stunt drive like tt to catch ur attention. If u respond then e can try get ur number. If u r guy then his gay. else unable to explain e way he drive.

And ur next post. Wa CSB!!! But tat was risky. Hope tat ur bf do tat once wake up le and tell himself never to do tat again. Next time maybe not side mirror liao. I would just slowly follow becoz dun wan to play dangerously which is wat they r doing, egging ur bf to play and he took e bait. If instead just dun bother they will get bored, then easy to overtake le.

 

not that he wanna play with them. he was on the way home and already quite tired, just wanna go home to rest. end up he encounter such situation where the cars started to irritate him by not giving way

Well quite a common sight. Especially in roads where there is a wall on the outermost lane, realised most cars would stick much closer to the to the left dotted line (which is fine, who wants to go home with a broken/scratched wing mirror?), or worse, drift into the next lane. Makes it quite hazardous for lane-splitting bikes!

 

If they are not confident about driving next to a wall, think they should just stick to the centre lane.

When riding, it feels that ppl are more willing to give way to you whenever you signal, lane change etc. Also feel less stressed as all you need to do is look out for your own life.

 

When driving, other road users all seem to think you are out to "eat" them, and most would not give way even when you signal early. Kinda stressful when driving, as alot of responsibilities. Now my own life seems less fragile (in cage) and all other road users like bikes and pedestrians are more vulnerable.

 

People say riding is stressful. I say riding is carefree and selfish, while driving is the stressful one!

 

My 2cents, feel free to disagree/agree with me.

I ve no issues with them sticking close to e left line. I can just dun lane split. which is y i always remind us tat lane split by itself is very dangerous. Adding overtaking during a lane split adds on even more danger.

Agree with e driving. When u signal, high chance pple spd up to cover e distance instead of slowing down to give way. Lol

 

During riding i think is not becoz more cars give way but becoz e cars cant accelerate enough to close e distance. Lol. At least tats my opinion becoz i signal, check clear, quickly go. Sometimes when i already in e lane then c side mirror, they trying to pick up spd to close e distance.

 

For me, riding fun is also in e fact tat we ve to pay attention and focus. Tat is fun too of coz being "king" on e road also feels good. Lol

Yesterday while riding on clementi road entering AYE towards city. 50m before merging lane. Right lane this Toyota white wish on right lane going slowly. I was on the left lane behind the wish. As I was approaching a lot faster. Planning to get in front Before the merging lane. It seems that the driver know i was approaching cos I can see his face from his side mirror. The moment I'm at his petrol cap area. His drifted towards my lane ! . The merging lane is still far. It's a down slope so I won't be able brake effectively. Gave him a long loud horn and managed to twist more throttle to get in front. Saw he was talking with his passager and oblivious to my horn ! If any slower. I think I would be lying on the grass patch already.

9 Points for sharing. Video too big so I split up for better loading. Part 1. Merc cross line 6 time with clear number plate. Will send TP. BMW also cross line once. Then a random positive example of a car not crossing line on the same road opposite direction as the Merc. =D

Today while riding with pillion, black vios decided to change into my lane without signalling. That's fine, only that he was a matter of inches from my front tyre! Too shocked to react, just jammed abit of brake and slowed down.

 

Gave him a thumbs up and rode off.

Today while riding on aye. Just entered eway saw a lot bright white headlights behind. After a moment all zoom passed me. Cars including R35 evo wrx BMW type r. Easily hit speed above 140. Keep cutting lanes. Good thing they have lane discipline which I did not feel threatened.

 

What Im confused is why did the first few cars tap on their brakes to blink

Few times ? To inform fellows racers that in front have camera or tp ? After about 20 seconds they speed up again towards cte. Too bad no camera on me to capture

Why would people risk their life like that when they have an innocent pillion on board?

Where the hell did you people get all of these camera? I also want one! My bro has one in his car and i swear its damn cool. Got one pedestrian just jump out on the road, lucky he stopped in time. If i banged him, the evidence so clear he jumped on the road without looking!

Maybe the rider started to turn quite close to him? But cam could not capture how dangerously close the rider was?

I think tat duo may be partly right tat e camera may not ve captured e closeness tat e ducati is.

 

Another reason could be our perspectives. I think this has happened to me before too where i was just about to twist my throttle OR ve twisted my throttle OR ve not moved yet. I think in e 3 cases i painted, e one where i ve twisted my throttle would v been risky for both myself and e ducati. Maybe tat is wat lycan's situation is.

 

Also now i realise tat i also did this to others too in e past. No more now as i always wait behind others at right turns. Otherwise i would go as far left safely as i can while preparing for e right so when i turn, i will turn into e left most lane rather than cutting across lycan's path as shown in e video.

 

If we put ourselves in e ducati's perspective, we may think "u slow, ve not move so i go first. Cut ur lane also nvm since im moving, u r not so no risk".

 

In lycan's perspective, it could be "i twist throttle already then suddenly u cut my lane. U cb rider fup, if i not riding my small bike then we tio liao and u sabo ur pillon. Fup!!!"

 

So i think we ve to take a step back and considered e various scenarios. At first i also think nothing wrong but after duo's comment i realise tats not true. So just laying out e above scenarios for u guys to ponder. Basically assuming u r e ducati and u think u can cut lycan's path safely, think again. I am fine with people cutting me as I am slow. At least if they did what you stated above, I am fine with it. However, there is only one lane ahead and i doubt he can/plan to cut as left as possible.

 

I guess one word sums it all.

For e ducati risk, i think e order should be pillon, then u an lastly e ducati rider. Becoz pillons always takes it hardest as they dun ve a grip and likely they wont be tat alert either. Then u r e next at risk becoz e ducati rear and ur front will be e main focus of impact. finally e one who ride without thinking it through is actually in e safest position.

 

Looking at e above, thus we as a rider, should always always be alert and be careful becoz we will always, always without fail be on e losing end.
