Whic country's orchard bend? :)

Ok la i also got encounter drivers who acknowledge their mistake. I feel tat this is important becoz if they dun acknowledge, means they dun think it's wrong or they dunno. Then e next rider may nkt be so lucky.

U pause the video, and after the pause, u had a whole 3 seconds to execute your lane change lah before passing the lorry side by side. Its called a normal lane change. Just because people lane change into the lane in which u are going straight doesn't mean people cut your lane. Stop getting on the road hoping to find close shave footages. Self righteous prick looking for self pity :slapforehead:

The lorry did not cut into ur lane. I thk that the driver want to change to centre lane in advance and stay on that lane as he is going straight to SLE. The left lane in meant for turning to Yio Chu Kang Rd and CTE. I thk that the drive don't want to change lane at the last minute since the road is clear.

that video nothing leh , the lorry drive anctipating and going to the middle lane so that later he wont have problems squeezing into the lane towards sle leh

And your relative speed against the lorry was way too fast also... Mind sharing what speed were u going at? No hard feelings.

Putting aside whether the rider is speeding or not. Here we are talking about road courtesy. The lorry should have exercised others distance judgement and speed anticipation before carrying out the lane change.

Since the traffic is sooo smooth ahead, the lorry driver could have waited for the rider to go pass, then do lane change. Just to show the lorry driver didn't bother other motorists. Perhaps specially at riders?

Analogy applied if i am travelling 70kph on leftmost lane. You are riding at 100 kph on middle lane. Without due consideration, I do lane change at 70kph in front you. Then you have to sudden swerve to accommodate my action. Touch your inner self first. Will you be happy of this action bor? If every road users like that lorry, how many times do I have swerve in a day to stay alive?

Agree with u the lorry driver should have better situational awareness and better judgement of rear vehicle passing at higher speed.

I thought the exhausts would more likely be recognised as not s4 first rather than the tail-lights...

P-plate should be an attitude to safety and riding. There's always more to learn.

Seems that most drivers have bad judgements on speeds or could care less about a rider's well being. An example from last year.

I don't think its personal. Motorcycles are smaller and its really harder to judge a bike's speed. Unlike a 18 wheeler, which if you were doubtful about its speed, you would hold back rather than cross its path, regardless or whether u were driving or riding.

I don't think that most drivers do not care about most riders' well-being. If they don't give a sh*t about riders, its likely they don't give a sh*t about other drivers as well. Unless its a larger vehicle than theirs and their safety is at stake.

I still believe they do not. Motorcycles are in the vulnerable lot as with pedestrians. Should be looked out more for. If they do they would not treat us like they do with other cars. Cutting into our lanes and 'pushing' us out. How often do you see cars doing so to bigger vehicles like lorries? They know they have more protection and we are vulnerable hence the actions. We will have to give way and try to avoid no matter what. I believe if they know its hard to judge our speed they should not just make the move but to ensure that its safe before doing so. But they dare to do it because in any collision we are the ones who will get hurt. Its the mentality 'I'm bigger so must give way to me'. Your 18wheeler example already shows that be it riding or driving :they will not cross its path because their safety would be compromised. Its only when their safety is compromised then they would care.

Eh duo, how come u have such an interesting Avatar picture? Is that really u? It looks like the orbituary pic of a Pakistani...
For me to know and you to find out.

Fair point. If we cannot count on them to look out for us, then we will depend on ourselves to stay alert otr and stay alive to ride another day.

this morning while riding to work abt 9.20am... at T- junction of Dover Rise and Dover road, i was going to make a left turn towards north bouna vista... red light left arrow was @ my favour, check my right for oncoming traffic, saw this champagne grey wish - no. plate 8558 cant remember the alphabets, has no signs of stop ... sped and beat the red light after almost 3 - 5 secs when the light has turn red. Guess what he was doing... happily one hand hold hp and one hand on steering... after he beat the red light tried to stop and look around and waved his hands signalling he was sorry... if i have my camera on i definitely sending the video to TP...

On mon going to work. On PIE heading west at toh guan exit. Saw an object on e floor. Was quite small so quite late when i spotted it due to the sun and reflection off the road. Could only hold on tight.

Nothing happened but notice it was a bike chain. So i was thinking that it must be very terrifying to encounter chain snap while riding....

Encountered a chain snapping on my first year OTR. Chain snapped as I was about to kick up to gear 3. The chain wrapped itself around the swingarm and sprocket causing the rearwheel to be locked. Kept calm and maintained balance and managed to stop safely. Removed chain and pushed bike to nearest bikeshop about 1-2km away.

Nice... Mine not so lucky... Chain drop out when cornering and wheel lock... Wheee.... Skidded....

won't be surprised if they do....greed.

but if they start charging, the management better damn well get some bike parking lots in.

the one in suntec is bloody pathetic and the bikes have to resort to parking in between pillars because there's not enough bike lots.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)
