Really ah? Hmmm ok ok. Wont then. But i tink this is one of those times where highway code doesnt make much sense. Hw i give way to him? Im leaning over while he has a safe pocket to stop in. This is just plain road manners and common sense IMO.

 

I think becoz u should turn into the right side lane rather than left side lane.

furthermore naim had alrd turned into the other road already leh, the car considered joining this same road from a smaller filter lane, lidat i thot supposed to be naim got right of way alrd?

Right turning vehicles supposed to give way to left turning vehicles if there's no filter lane... If there's a filter lane, the left turning vehicles supposed to give way to the vehicles on the lane the filter lane leads to... Regardless of whichever lane they're on, they're not supposed to come out from the filter lane when they see any oncoming traffic... Because sometimes there're 2 lanes turning right, or 2 filter lanes turning left, or both also have 2 lanes... Filter lane supposed to give way because of the stop line at the end of the filter... No matter got car or no car, they supposed to stop at the stop line... That's what the TP taught us at the driving centre...

Wen i tink abt it agn, no matter i turning or i from the main road, once he is in the filter lane, there is a stop sign and he is supposed to give way to oncoming traffic, since he is joining the road mah. maybe he tunnel vision on turning or distracted?

by right filter lane vehicles supposed to give way but by left when some ppl driving either they toke it for granted and focus on making the turn and not checking the blind spot when he is supposed to.

when i learnt driving before my riding, i wasnt emphasized to look ahead in the junction and only to check blind spot. not too sure if this applies to others who learnt driving.

 

i avoid such reckless / mindless behaviour from filter lane by turning on right most turn lane instead of the middle one.. at least evasion will be more simpler instead of having to watch for behind oncoming vehicle if need to swerve.. not sure if everyone has the same opinion?

Naim, don't submit to TP.

 

When cornering, making a right hand turn, under highway code, you have to give way to vehicles making a left turn.

Expected 2 lanes... Cos there's this junction at cck also exactly the same... But the filter lane always give way to traffic... Maybe he rushing go toilet or he blind... Lol..

Today take leave.had good early breakfast at jb. Decided to go home at 9am. Lta camera doesnt show the whole situation. Just before woodland cp, hundreds maybe thousand motorcycles moving at a snail pace. Cars go very fast. Is it like this everyday.? I thought at 920am, many workers are at work already.only the insensitive, poor,powerless and top of the coconut tree people would not be able see the sad situation these people have to go through everyday just to ensure our economy is moving. 10am ,after 1 hour, finally left custom. I am now feeling the effect of inhaling the fumes. But being the singaporean that i am, i switched off my engine mostly.

I don't think its personal. Motorcycles are smaller and its really harder to judge a bike's speed. Unlike a 18 wheeler, which if you were doubtful about its speed, you would hold back rather than cross its path, regardless or whether u were driving or riding.

 

 

This, plus, bikers always travel faster than most cars on any given road. It's a fact that some can't or won't admit.

Yes. At stoplights I will like bbdc like that. bike in gear. clutch in, left foot down. scan at rear mirror

 

Good practice. I do the same. Always ready to move off at a moment's notice.

 

When I brake on the roads, I also flash my eyes from the view ahead to my mirrors, back and forth repeatedly. Personally, I know I can brake hard and control my bike as it slows or even slides a bit. I worry more about the car behind me not being able to brake in time and rear-ending me.

Oh ya. Correct, i forgot about e dashed line at e end of filter lane which means give way if theres traffic on e road u r turning into.

 

Meaning in ur case if "touch wood", u win case hands down.

Saw something 2days ago. Ve to admit tat it was my 1st time seeing such situation. Was LS between lane 1/2. About 3 car in front i saw a kup preparing to filter in, so i slow down let him since i was slow and traffic was high. So might as well i let him first as i LS slow.

 

So he got into e LS lane and started slowing down. No brke light yet. Then brake light came on. All this while his left hand was at his left jeans pocket like got ants or sonething. Then i saw it, he dug out his handphone and look at it, while braking...

 

Then he proceeded to stuff e HP into his helmet and suddenly speed off. O.O

 

Really dunno if this guy is power or too skill or too stupid. Traffic was medium thus we can easily LS more than 60. His 1st braking was becoz nearly kanna vehicle in my opinion. But can still continue to answer call. Maybe 1st thing he say is "f***, ur call nearly killed me!"
