Local drivers are tards, at least 40% of them, for every 10, you'll find 4 idiots and got chance 3 of them are aunties, just kidding. The only language terribad local drivers understand is being overtaken aggressively and given the finger, lai stop one side la, 99% they won't stop, just show their tu lei lo mo face.
i agree totally on that. drivers are too ball-less to get off their machine. :)

I don't like to horn people unless really necessary. And yeah, i know my horn not loud, but no choice, air horn illegal mod. Rather be more careful than to part with money...

Come to think of it, i wonder if i didnt horn, would the driver crash into divider? Probably yes leh... quite scary...

Same here. I only horn when it is really necessary. Hence why they should review this illegal mod rule.
same goes for me too.

Unfortunately, i not much chance to ride on CTE/TPE, except on weekends when i go to my aunt's place for dinner at sembawang. Didnt really notice if the lanes were narrower, but even if they were, it's only at certain points iirc... like the joining and exit points...

Some people like to work PH, cos double pay, hahaha...

And yeah, ride safe is most important. Totally agree that sg roads is test of patience.

RIDE.

but at that time the drivers are not as bad as it is now. :(

Actually, it is not much difference 30 years ago and now. Only there are more cars on the road now and traffic is so bad that I gave up driving to work.

Quite a fresh feel today while riding,

was keeping to 80-90 (meter)spark on lane 2, cars were following behind and not tailgating.

only for the exceptional few racers who overtook in the end.

Journey from CCK to TP HQ and back.

Not that bad.

Road hogger @ 50km/h on 4th lane

This morning I followed an ambulance (2 cars between us) on CTE from AMK to Balestier. I was feeling very shiok because I could ride relaxed at 70+km/h without lane-splitting. Then suddenly this taxi which moved left to give way to the ambulance tried to cut back into lane 1 immediately after the ambulance passed. There was no signal, no checking, nothing. It nearly collided with a car behind the ambulance. And even after the car driver horned, the taxi driver still tried to bully his way into lane 1 and was basically driving between 2 lanes. Since I was at a safe distance, I checked and moved into the "lane splitting lane" and gave the cabbie a taste of my high beams. After a few flashes and the continued honking by the "victim" car (and the car behind the taxi on lane 2 joined in the honking), the taxi finally LL moved back into lane 2.

This kind of road bully shouldn't be allowed on the road. I hope somebody had a dashboard cam and took the cab's license plate down. What an ass.

30yrs ago i not born yet, so i can't say anything for whether got difference or not. But one thing confirm guarantee plus chop sure is that nowadays driver definitely more impatient. I believe this is due to the heavy traffic and thus they have to rush here and there. Andre has a very valid point that as car saturation increase, the incidents seem more and more also.

Hate this type of driver. Yesterday my friend and i on the way to yishun dam and riding on CTE lane 2 at 90kmph. There was a car going at 90 on lane 1 beside us as well, so kinda like side by side. Then came an Audi behind us, tailgating my friend's fz1, and trying to squeeze into the small space btn my friend and the car on lane 1 to overtake. Nearly bang my friend's bike. More and more such people on the roads.

RIDE.

Perhaps drivers are more tolerant 30 years ago. But now everyday is so hectic so they get less tolerant and always rushing here and there that they cannot let anyone pass them. :D

At every traffic jam look up ahead and most of the time you will see a car poking the bonnet into the lane next to it that is creating the jam.

Always frustrated by drivers who never seem to see you? Sure it may be because they were callous and you could try to force their hand by sticking it to em.

However, have a read and you might appreciate the fact that "I did not see you" is not really that hard to believe. Drivers are just not looking long enough at a fixed point to determine if there is a bike or not.

Yes, they should check better before making any movements, but it's safer to accept the fact there's a chance they didn't see you and take a defensive stance towards riding.

while riding today at around 10.30pm, i exited moulmein from CTE (towards AMK) as I stay bendemeer. Light was green in my favour at the Communicable Disease Centre (CDC), i'm seriously lucky that my sp has the power that got me out of a terrible accident. Car beat redlight on my right. And I'm lucky that i checked my blindspot as I moved off and saw a car coming quite fast and the spark beside jammed his brakes, I throttled more. If i were to brake, i'd have died there. And no cars horned as it happened too fast. I seriously hope that the driver will get caught or die in a crash. Its 10.30pm and he can f-ing juz beat redlight. he think his father road arh? nnbpcb.

pardon me, but i did. fitted on my x1-r to be used as high beam and on NSHW. i rarely use it because the HID drained too much battery

1)Drain battery

2)You don't need HID for SG roads, got so many lights around.

3) If TP see your bike got HID, no way you can outrun them.

4)X1-R on NHSW, you should put your HID on your taillight.

True to a certain extent. But did they bother changing the way they check? Mainly because its turned into a bad habit. Also they could care less unless their lives are at stake. But knowing they are protected in their cages they could care less about it.

The penalties should be higher but no ministers or their sons ride bikes so they can be made example of. So I guess nothing will change.

while on the way to work, was merging into PIE from TPY opposite the police academy, when saw a lady in a food catering van signal left 2 lanes away, so thought nothing much. i was on extreme left lane. she cut into the lane beside me, and didnt change course, so i wary. Sure enough, she started to cut into my lane also... I blast horn and then she realised and she swerve back to her lane and said sorry.

Saw another guy in a Porsche using phone while driving before the u-turn to SIM at clementi road. Granted it was a slow moving crawl, but still...

Charging the gopro now... shall use it later when i'm on my way home after work... OPEN SHOP arh! HUAT!

Bro Duo, after reading some of your posts, I guess probably you are not a driver and I feel you're prejudice against all drivers. Similar to those drives who doesn't ride, they too have prejudice again all riders.

Drivers & riders are alike, you have some bad one and some good one.

Not only sometime drivers missed a incoming bike, riders too sometime will miss incoming car as well. Everybody might make mistake. Just learn from it and move on.

Learn to be patient and be more forgiving to each others and share the road among each other peacefully and make sure can go home safely.

Sorry but I am not your bro. True. I believe I have been too patient and forgiving hence why I ended up in a coma in the hospital. Assuming I am prejudice against ALL drivers is a big assumption. Is this getting personal? If it is then may I tell you how I feel about you too based on your posts?

Most riders will be prejudiced against car drivers, and car drivers will be prejudiced against riders in singapore. It's just how it works. Drivers find riders a nuisance with their lanesplitting which lessen driver's margin of error, and riders think drivers (the bad ones, which incidentally is on the increase) are out to kill them. It's something that will only stop if both sides learn to be more patient with each other and take steps to watch out for each other. Unfortunately, i don't see this happening on a nationwide scale in Singapore anytime soon. Reason cos the youths nowadays are taught to think of themselves first rather than others generally, although there are some wonderful exceptions.

As for car missing riders cos riders have smaller profiles, i think that's not a valid point, although logical. It's invalid because in schools, we were taught to watch out for all road-users. If the driver didn't see the rider, it may be logical, but inexcusable, because he has a responsibility to watch out for other road users properly.

I think Duo has a valid point on drivers (and riders) developing bad habits. Like impatiently changing lanes suddenly, lack of signals, not checking blind spot, right of way mentality etc. These are bad road habits and mostly stem from laziness and impatience.

RIDE.

Nothing personal. You have the free will to express what you think about me.

I'm just try to share my experience and let riders know about feeling of drivers and vice versa in Mycarforum. Just trying to do my small part to let everybody understand each other (of course without much success) and hence can co-exist and share the road peacefully together.

I'm a driver and rider for more then 30 years. I ride to work everyday and always ride up to north for touring. Currently I have 3 bikes and one more scooter on the way. I love riding. I only drive when need to go out with family members.

I'm just trying to tell everyone to be patient and try to be forgiving as everybody makes mistake. Learn from it and move on. No point getting angry with each other everyday.
