My suggestion ah,

1. check cable routing, alignment and cable condition e.g bend mark or something that can caused the cable for not working freely.

2. Remove cable and lubricate your throttle grip then test it condition.

If this 2 are ok, then i strongly suggest you change the cable. Lubricate it with wd40 is only a temp. solution. But if you insist then do it from the top end and let the fluid flow downwards.

happy trying. :)

if the throttle dun spring back u can try those below:

1) u can try pulling the grip slightly out,

cos the throttle might be too close to the handlebar end so as to coz friction.

2) gotto open up the black casing (2 screws) then put abit of oil down the cable head. careful, the head might spring out. better ask a mech to do it if u dun really hands on.

3) if the above dun work, its time to change another new throttle cable. :thumb:

like to ask, i know bleding the brakes can be troublesome. butif just topping up? simpy open it up, drip the fluid slowly using a screwdriver to prevent bubbles, and screw back?? brakes are fine no need to bleed but need topup. is there preference dot3 or dot4? can mix?

regarding the plug opener, drop by LAB and buy. if u know the size, just go hardware store. LAB was a teeny bit exp. mine got no number on it cant help u.

just pour in slowly can liao..if you're careful enough no need screwdriver. Put a cloth below the reservoir to protect your paintwork. don't mix the fluids..if dot 4 then top up dot 4. Anyway, it's all detailed in the newbie's guide to bikes thread.

i advice you get it done asap and not till 2k, you won't want to do an e-brake with throttle still on.

Every 2000km or 3 months whichever come first. Change engine oil and sparkplug, estimate cost bring $30 should be enough. The rest just check, e.g. chain tension adjust if necessary & check brake pad thickness.

Totally agree. It doesnt cost much on the cable and its not worth the saving.

experiment with various angles until u can slot it in rather easily. as long air is pumped in without leaks, ok lor.

ps: i hate caltex pump. pump shell, refuel shell, redeem pts shell :)

i just had tyre puncture in rear wheel and very difficult to pump air before running to bike shop.

i was at shell station and didnt managed to pump air to rear wheel.

so just roll on to ah koon, and all the cars, bikes behind me horn to let me know that i have flat tyre.

luckly not total flat at all to damage rim, just white-wall-rubber-layer peel off as rolling with half air pressure. (it was so ugly :( )

ah koon fixed for me and no tyre change required. damage 8 $ and peel-off-white(brown)-wall.

refuel at caltex, pump air at shell lor. skin thick a bit, so long u never need uncle's services, they dun care u. i can happily pump esso, go shell check tyres. Afterall Esso is usually before Shell.

so many cyclists go petrol kiosk to add air before going for rides, just ride in pump ride out. yours just happened to be a bicycle with a motor and big wheels mah

OCBC got 10%? hmmm, sounds like its time to take my cash outta UOB.

Ask to change the pump valve to the 90 degrees angled one during your next tyre change, should cost between $25 to $50. Worth the investment, but some people say the air tends to leak out easier than the stock straight one, but with regular (like once in 2 weeks) pumping, shouldnt pose any problem.
