Hello guys.. I'm planning to buy either Phantom 150 or Phantom 200..

Can I know which is better? In terms of value for money, overall comfortability and fuel consumption.. Anyway both Phantom 150 and 200 looks great to me..

Thanks a lot for your help guys.. :p

Most TA150's are very old and have almost negligible resale value. Bike shops won't take them & private sellers are almost giving them away free.

TA200 are available everywhere & there are plenty of choices to suit your budget.

Fuel consumption? TA200 wins hands down. Probably only the Waves & Pulsar has better FC then a TA200. TA200 is also a 4-stroke bike & is comparatively cheaper to maintain compared to a TA150.

Comfort? no difference between the 2.

I suddenly thought of "Unleaded Petrol" and "Leaded Petrol" and about Yamaha LC bikes, heard LC needs to pump different kind of petrol than normal. Is that true and why?

kiamh, there is also spark which is also better than ta200 :]

 I'm not too aware of that...

Anyone got a spare Sparkz or Wave lying around that can rent me for a month or 2? Super 4 also can. Heck, phantom also eh sai la.....

haha you'll sure love those other bikes over a phantom anytime. Think maybe you can try asking Phantom Panda  you guys should be able to take care of each others' bikes since all are cruiser fans

is there a possibility of FC improving over time? Mine seem to improve from 31 to 33km/litres even though my riding style seem to be getting alittle aggressive after getting used to the bike.

FC is not constant each tank bro. have to pump at least 5 full tank then calculate the average.

any1 knows of any website can see paint job designs of motorcycles? NOT airbrushed.. thanks..

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

dude .. no offend 150cc eo can change between 4k to 6k mileage unlike 200cc (2 to 3k mileage must change) .. and if u wan to say 2T my 2T can last me 2 to 3 month and my avg speed is 80 to 120km/h .. hence i dun reli find the different for maintenance .. unless u mention abt petrol ..

in term of stability i feel ta150 cc is better at high speed at lower speed no diff for both..

fuel consumption yes ta200 is better as is a 4stroke bike but dun provide as much power as ta150cc (2 stroke) .. and for moggie_54 info .. if u wan power means ur fuel consumption won't be gd .. so the same for if u wan better fuel consumption = power loss ..

kiamh no offend.. jus my comment and i know that comparing of this 2 model has been a history just that from ur post u dun seem to provide fair comment .. :cheeky:

ya man actually

TA 150 is not such a bad bike sia, i mean if u look at the part where all bike use petrol, u will come to realise that if u really like a bike petrol is usually not an issue:cheeky:

That's coz TA150 uses gear oil, whereas the TA200 uses engine oil. Different. That's why yours can tahan so long. But my TA200 also every 5k thereabouts then change EO one haha. So comparatively my TA200 is more cost saving since oil changes are made at roughly the same mileage intervals, i don't have to purchase 2T, and i pump petrol less frequently. But some ppl change every 2-3k then there'll be not much difference liao.

Anyway more power doesn't necessarily mean lousier fuel consumption la. A good tuning can deliver more power and give better FC at the same time, as all fuel is burnt efficiently. Also...my ex SV400 has more power than a super 4...but FC is much better...haha. Engine configs do play a role here. But I'm getting carried away here...

thanks for your suggestion.. but most of the search results are elaborate custom airbrush works.. was thinking if any1 goes to any websites to see nice paint jobs that are not airbrushed.

in a typical car, adding water to the radiator is through the radiator overflow tank, recommended not directly through the radiator cap...because of safety reason...

could this be it??

ya...

the side cover under the rider seat...hahah should be on the right side...

yeah here you find the battery and air filter i suppose.. also the tube with a screw on cap....must be for topping something i suppose...but what??

anyone knows the answer???

ah well might as well ..this is one ancient bike..hahah:giddy:

Thanks a lot guys for your advice.. :cheeky:

Anyway.. I have search around the forum for Prices of Phantom 200.. FU-FY Plate cost around $1.6K-$2.5K online.. Can I know the rough idea on how much does a shop sell a 200 cc Phantom? I have only a budget of $2.6K inclusive of the machine price, insurance, transfer fee, road tax and FC.. Is it enough or do I have to save more? :faint:
