ya it is possible but not advisable...you are using a worn out chain...anyhing can happen....this one must change with the gears...scarly bike cannot move..

I think you meant the chain sprockets, no?

Hi, I've been riding my TA200 for about 2 years now, recently I noticed that there are some metal clanging sound coming from the engine (maybe gear box) that is esp audible when u clutch in... any idea what could be the problem?

And how often should you change the chain and how roughly how much? Thanks.

coolant radiator seldom need to top up de .. it tooks ver long for the solution in the coolant to evaporate .. if u go koon motor do full servicing he will top up if needed anyway .. hence nthing to worry much abt coolant if urs is workin fine ..

could be your tuning. try to increase your idling.

hi guys n replay... idling increased n it did solve my starting prob most of e occasion except for some wet mornings. Anyway, is it norm that when increase of idling, revs of eng sounds erratic (constant high n low kind rev)??:cheeky:

is common tt when cold start u got to pull the choke .. i 4get abt the theory part .. but once u pull ur choke den u start shld b start wif ease .. if nt chk out ur spark plug as well .. it does affect ..

Spark plug was replaced before.. i've met some phamton rider n they dun hv e prob of pulling choke always.. As per manual i understand its norm to pull choke when cold start n as per Dr. chong cheeky reply intially.. "PULL choke GD~" hehe..

TA200 is air cooled. No coolant required.

those phantom rider u see them is their 1st startin of their engine of the day ?? i noe it can start with no problem but i believe is nt everyday .. cau got to depend on the weather temperature level .. unless u saying tt urs got to use choke to start the bike even it is in the afternoon ..

HUH????????????????? :faint:

Hi replay.. what i meant is that after i increased my idling, my engine rev sounds rather inconsistent with high n low rev when in neutral gear at junction, can hear n feel its vibrations. But when i reduce my idling it sounds more consistent. Is that norm? Sorry for e noob ques guys.. :cheeky:

Most i met commented that their 1st start doesnt actually require pulling of choke most of e time. Whereas before i went for tuning n increased of idling, my worst scenario is that after riding n park for 3 hours i will still hv e same starting prob THEN.

Anyway, starting prob almost rectified after tuning n increased of idling. thanks

irregular idle should only happen if u cool your bike for over 6 hours, or its a very cold day.

if the idle is so irregular that it cause your engine to die off at junctions, then u need to seek professional help coz its very dangerous.

if the problem is solved by increasing the idle, save your money, live with it.

if you cannot ignore it, try to tighten all the links from the carburator first. usually something along that line may be lose and cause air flow to be irregular.

if you cannot ignore it but have no idea what i'm talking about, pay Chong a visit. he fixed it quickly, at a fee.

i have never ever used the choke on my phantom. as a reference.

I'd double normanlai, neither do I use my choke. I use it for fun once in a while only ;) do the necessary checks before you pay someone to do it guys
