2004 onwards is custom 4. Biggest difference is that they ignition key is at the top of the triple tree near the handlebar. Older TA200 have the key at the left side of the engine near the air filter.

 

Only cosmetic differences between the TA200 & the custom 4.

Hi i am new to biking just bought a 2nd hand Ta200. Sorry got a few questions to ask

(1)Where can I go for inspection and testing for my bike's engine and everything?

(2)How much will it cost for the mechanics to "test" my bike?

(3) Will they "chop" me by purposely saying something need to be changed?

(4) I read alot about "Planet" and "Lim Ah Boy" here, is it cos they are very reliable?

(5) I been to "Lim Ah Boy" but where is "Planet" ?

Tell Ah Chong to help test ride. Tell him you are new, dunno how to check. I dun think they charge for test ride. But one word of advise is dun ask him test ride then go other shop to do. He dun like it. He will not anyhow chop.

why do you need planet test ride ur bike for? something is damaged or a problem you cant identify?

 

the only cost of test riding ur ride, is the tiny bit of petrol that is burned off riding.

 

boss will tell you dun change unnecessary, something i tell ppl also. if it's not spoilt, why wanna waste the money to change it. if got too much to spare, come buy some stuffs from me then. whahaa...

Hey Madman your Phantom is really nice, would kill to have a bike like yours! Do you have problems going in between cars?

 

Anyway I bought this Ta200 second-hand so not sure what needs to be changed; Quite paranoid that some parts may need changing cos its not brand new after all. So it would be nice if someone who knows more help me check all and advise me what to do.

Of coz he will. But anyway, you should know the basic from passing our license ma. how the bike feels etc.

Can... can come back and do another time. My Super 4 also let him test but i never do on the spot cos that time also havent get license. Do liao also like that. So i told him ill be back... he was ok... it was 2 months later when i took my S4 back for maintenance. But i did.

If you ask me... i dun think he is good. He is not very good at doing things... and the bike he serviced keeps coming back... You can ask a RVF which i think is red and black... looks like the one Chaoz is riding...

 

Also another Ver. S, maroon coloured which came back 3 times in the same day because Ang Moh cannot fix things properly....

 

Now, for China man, he dropped a RXZ with the customer staring at him and he can still smile... also cannot do things the right way... if anything is too tight, he will just use a spanner, lock onto the bolt or something and hit the floor... He took 1 hour to repair a hole in a tyre belonging to a Wave.

when my bike in HOT condition (after 15 minutes ride), i can feel that my bike engine like not so fit~ feel like the piston not really fit when riding..

but at early morning or engine in cold condition, this will not happen...

 

is it related to the engine oil i using??

Hmm that is why i dun talk to them at all... hahaha... can one la understand one... Ah chong also nvr say anything... depend on tactic lor... you go there, straight away talk to mark or peng or the uncle... those 2 wun touch your bike liao...

i dun have much problems going between cars, dunno about others, also dun ride much during peak hours.

 

dun change anything if it aint spolt. jus ask boss to check bike for you as you just bought it. he'll tell you if anything needs to be done or not.

got a question to ask u guys,recently my TA150 got grinding sound in front, so as usual i suspected it to be the following

 

-bearing

-brakepad

-brakehose

 

then after changing bearings as recommended by that shop **** the grinding sound still occured finally went to a reliable shop =)

 

and the mech removed my brake caliper i think the one holding the brake pads and remove a black rubberband type thingy from it and then the problem was solved.

 

any bros here know whether removing that black rubberband will have any effect coz i ask mech he said this one nothing one dun worry.

i dun have much problems going between cars, dunno about others, also dun ride much during peak hours.

 

i have handlebars almost the same as Madman's, got it from him.

I have no problems squeezing through traffic and i ride during peak hours everyday to camp and work. With practice, sure can squeeze no matter what bike youre riding.

This morning, I almost fell down.

When I was cruising at 90 km/h on Woodlands rd, the traffic light turn yellow. I decide to stop although it is too close. Then my rear wheel started to skid. I tried to balance but almost fell.

The problem comes from my rear brake is too sensitive and my front brake is too loose. I used to ride on a bike with sensitive front brake and loose rear brake.

I wonder where can I adjust the front break. I went to the shop Bt Batok st 23 before and ask one of the staff this question. He just said that it was not the break oil's problem.

mean like the piston loose loh... Kling Kling sound from your engine when riding.. the sound not really fit as compared to when your engine is cold...

Your rear tyre could be worn or too old and the compound hardened.

 

Brother... together with the problems picking up speed during last friday's outing i really think you need to bring your bike for a check up. Seems like a lot of things are nto working correctly. Very dangerous. I recommend you to go to Planet Motors and let the boss ah chong give it a test ride.
