Not long ago, there was a thread about restarting bike after 6 mths. Someone mentioned not riding for 1mth and the battery died off already.

Sticking to the battery issue - besides getting it changed, can we just charge it by way of push-starting and revving to get the rectifier to charge it?

I have the best signature.

using battery charger to charge a battery will take as least an hour depends on battery life span, if used rectifer to charge .... wont it waste petrol ?

best is when going to work, push start and ride to work, this might help save petorl and same time charge up the battery ... just a thought

maybe ur chain is too tight? cos when u pillion, the chain will become tighter..

try this.. after u drop ur fren off rite, immediately check the free play of the chain with a key or sth.. dun use ur fingers cos the chain mite be hot.. if no free play at all means ur chain too tight liao..

ur batt is spoilt so cannot store charges or ur rectifer is spoilt or maybe u have devices that run and drain ur battery even after u off ur engine, devices such as alarm and such....

Hi all,

need help on gear problem

i have problem changing gear to gear . was about to go to expressway when i kick up to higher gear. it does not engage. then notice something wrong. i slowly drop down the gear a bit and kick up again it works. does anyone know wat's wrong? suspect something to do with gear spring?

redhotchilli: i guess should be my batt had been fully drained bah... cos i just changed the batt n rectifier not long ago...

Anyway, now the issue i wanna fix is the starting up issue... Was thinking if it could be that my air filter is dirty thus insufficient air supply when starting up my bike....

Hi, can I know how much mileage a chain and sprocket can take b4 it nds to be changed?

cant depend on mileage,

much depend on the rider technic/skill, or

until the chain cant be tighten, or

the teeth of the spocket is "SHARPEN".

CHeers..

you can see the spocket itself if the teeths are worn out lo...now adays, quite cheap, $100 or so can get a set. Bare in mind, it depends on wat type of chain you're using also...

changi or kaki bukit is much more lenient in inspection?

coz towing bike to inspection this week. usually inspect bike @ ayer rajah coz there damn easy going. dunch think driver will tow to ayer rajah since i live in bedok.

2nd issue: front number plate (solid) can mount onto the bike by sticking it (ps: not using sticker type number plate)? because that time i went to changi inspection the guy over there said must be mount onto it by screwing bolt and nut, pasting sticker tape on the back not pass.

is that bullshit or official?

thx and rgds
